I always protect Venice as if it was the Crusaders with Jerusalem, well not the best example but I genuinely protect this Civ if I am not going for domination, countless crusades against Rome, Shaka, and even the Huns were fought, only the Huns gave me a hard time since they have Horse Archers, Romans and Zulus? In my Civ 5 game, I started out, immediately founded like 5 cities so venice (my neighbor) could only get 2 cities. Meanwhile this spaniard was on an island with 4 cities. So, I advanced to medieval era, got like 13 soldiers, took venice, the bullied spain and eventually met the other players. Then Spain got mad and I declared war on bro and my 13 soldiers rushed into the territory and decimated her army of 3 warriors. (This is my first time playing btw) Now Im in the industrial era, at war with polynesia, and every single player is in the medieval era (they fear my wrath)
