I met the Grand Duchess Princess Joséphine-Charlotte informally about 34 years ago and liked her immediately. She was down-to-earth and very nice. I remember when she died, I was upset hearing of her death, even though I met her once for a few minutes.
I feel so sorry for the beautiful Dagmar, she lived through tragedy after tragedy. Not only did she lose her fiancé within a year of knowing him, she lost a baby, lost her beloved husband, one son to tuberculosis, two to murder (including 5 of her grandchildren), and surviving the revolution which took everything from her. I pray she that she has found comfort and happiness in heaven with her family after living such a tragic life.
