James we are healthy, but business is slow because of the economy. About a year and a half ago my YT Channel got demonetized because I did not get enough Watch Hours. Viewers would watch a few seconds then click a head or just leave. Granted my content was not as good as the old days because I was loosing interest in making the videos. Plus the real cool stuff we don’t video because there is so much competition in our area. It’s not in our best interest to educate the compitition. Thanks for checking in . I do miss reading most of the comments
@@VideosByAl I’m glad everyone is healthy. I was thinking about splitting a big red oak log that’s too big for my tractor to move and I always enjoyed seeing that on your channel. Things that go boom.
when you say "an 1/8th inch tilt" where are you referring to and from? if you say it in degrees then there is no question. If you say 1/8th inch, at how many feet? your straight edge? the width of the throat?
I used "an 1/8th inch tilt" when referring to the driven side blade guide roller. The 1/8th inch is the set back of the aluminum alignment tool on the left side while the right side in contacting the face of the blade guide roller. Refer to 5:40 in the video. See where the blade gullet is in reference to the face of the blade guide roller. The gullet is at the face of the roller. Watch until 5:58 and you'll see the alignment tool edge is recessed an 1/8" behind the gullet. This slight "Tilt" in the blade guide roller makes sure that when the blade contacts the roller flange, the blade contacts the up swing of the flange keeping the blade stable in the cut. Hope this helps.....
So... what about a spring that is on one of the inner modules? unfortunately there isn't enough room for the handle to just come off... do I need to dis-assemble and remove the whole module to make room? Good video btw...
Good question. Yes you will have to loosen a module to the right of the one needing serviced. I think you’ll have to make it really loose but not detached. Good luck.
@@VideosByAl You make loosening the 'nut' on the underside of the module seem so easy... I've replayed 1:07 to 1:17 a dozen times! But I got it... by holding the 'module' and and a 15/16th wrench on the 'nut', a few gentle smacks with a mallet 'cracked' the connector, loosened the module like a charm! Just like in the video! (thanks for your time with this...)
You are watching the right spot in the video. Try holding the handle while loosening the nut. My guess is someone else over tightened the nut. If you saw in the video I did give mine a good yank because they are tight, but not wildly tight. Let me know how it goes. I’m getting E-mail notifications when you comment so I’ll keep an eye on them for another hour.
cut some yesterday that was stressed out to, on video too didnt go as bad as yours tho. had a spruce slab bow so bad cutting it that it just popped off the last 4 inches of the cut.
The volunteer fire department here bought two of those military trucks at auction and turned them into brush trucks for grass fire control. It would be hard to hide them now, they painted them red!
We have several departments in our area that run retired military trucks for tankers and or brush trucks. Very cost effective for the lower income departments.
FWIW… I’d like to see you mill logs. Yes, I watched most of Linda’s milling videos but it was because I watching logs get turned into lumber and because of who was putting out the video.
I've watched your videos for a few years now... and even though Linda isn't doing any videos, please tell her I said hello and she is missed. I do like watching you run your saw. I'm almost 80 years old, so it's important to me to find something I enjoy. Thank you...
