You should have used hydrogen peroxide bleach to destroy the fungal spores. You are just moving them around on the glass surface and they will continue to grow in the future. And using a cloth to wipe internal lens elements is pretty risky. I recommend in the future just to wash them in distilled water with some surfactant and a soft paintbrush only for agitation. Optical glass is extremely soft and so is the multicoating, if present.
This is VERY cool but that's not how they shot the one in PSYCHO...they built a huge one...the shower head part was several feet across...Those huge cameras Hitchock used were much larger than your modern-day camera of course...but the shower head "model" was so big that the water went around the camera. There IS a shot of a normal shower head that's built into that set...and it worked and had water running out of it...but the really fast shot toward the start of the scene after Janet Leigh turns the knob...that shot is the fake one built really big. And I believe they shot it outdoors to avoid the mess it would make inside a studio! They duplicated a section of the tile wall in giant squares to make it match. But I like yours. It looks pretty great. Hope your camera is okay!
Fungus on optical lenses can sometimes exist only on the surface but generally it creates permanent etching into the surface of the glass that cannot be removed.
