We need someone to start selling plant vase cozies like for beer cans. If I weren't lazy, I would do it. I saw someone put tin foil around it, but I don't think I can do that yet... Maybe I will start that company. NOBODY STEAL MY IDEA 😃 It's so funny - I love the small of certain dirt and the plant soil too. No stank booty there! Goodwill is a GREAT place to get vases. And The Dollar Store.
Thank you for this. I just looked at my vessels with Pon vs my glass vessels with Fluval...um I know algae isn't bad but ugh the Pon vessels look eww. Lol
@@plantgayforlife Interestingly, there is no algae in the Fluval Stratum with Leca vessels. I have what looks like photosynthesisized juicey Anthurium roots but no algae. Now my little Alocasia corm prop plastic cups have some algae at the bottom. Those are 100% Fluval but not nearly as bad as the Pon. The Alocasia's I refuse to touch until they are ready for a 4in vessel.
@@plantgayforlife When do I water it 😥? Should I rely on complete dryness or just the bottom dryness? And what about moss media.... Please make a short video for us on the precise details to avoid wet and dry root rot 🙏
I got one as my 4th anthirium, I got her from someone local who grew it from seed and its flourishing in ambient conditions 😆 I think your issue is the importing lolol
@plantgayforlife so far just over 1ft, I've had it for about 4months, but the leaf size has doubled since I've had it, my ambient humidity is around 40%-60% I use no drainage aswell like you did, I honestly would love to see if you can source one locally grown and see if you can get it to work, as its then already acclimatised to your growing conditions
It's official, I have no more money. I went to the plant store. Again. BUT I have a really cool philodendron. PS: Now you have another problem, subtitles say, "This is Jake and Sarah also known as Planke for Life" Hahahah love ya.
That temp is PERFECT! Not all aroids are created equal. Some live in cool high altitude rainforests, others evolved in lowland forests that are 90sF every day. But overall they do great in the 70s!
I've been up potting my Anthurium with success! Next, I need to get my Monstera into Pon and my Bird of Paradise in water so it can enjoy the semi-hydro life too. Pon is working great for me with LECA reservoirs in straight glass vases. I know you're moving away from it but I'm my house... It's working! And this is all about experimentation so I keep a close eye. I find I need to run my humidifier more in the summer because the A/C dries the air here in Tucson. We use less heat in the winter... Oh, and I'm Neem Oil cleaning my plants like crazy. Knock wood, I'm still pest free. Thanks for another helpful video! 💚
Living in south Asia, normally I used catch plates and add coco chunks on top of my plants to sustain moisture. I also water more often as it's extremely hot. Good video
Great advice Jake 👍 Something I've noticed ( stemming from outdoor plants cycles) Summer growth is all about new leaves. I had to stop giving my established indoor plants nutrients like root zone that encourages rooting, taking away the signal to send energy to the top growth.
Good call! Rooting hormones and nutrients are great to get a plant started or when repotting but then we gotta let the plant decide what to do cuz it knows best!😊
Im still going to get a queen because she is the moment and is on my dream list but atm all I got is a tiny Anthurium pallidiflorum Im learning to take care off. Love this video the rage is so me whenever someting goes wrong with my plants.
I FORBID YOU TO BUY A QUEEN. I’m saving you from incessant migraines and heart ache. Grow some other anthuriums first. So many others are easier and more rewarding.
the JV bashing hahaha. Deserved for somebody who charges 80$ for his articles. Like babes, I can read actual research papers for free ur writing is not that special -.-
I cannot confirm nor deny anything. All I’ll say is I had wayyy more shit to say about said person but ended up cutting it out cuz it was a bit over the top😂😇
