I remember my first time flying to Florida, getting hyped to go fishing, didn’t know how to fish in Florida, caught a god damn channel cat my first catch and was so disappointed. Lucky a local saw me and taught me how to properly top water fish
They don't fish for carp because they are nasty!I've always called them river rats. They stink so dam bad that to me they are not even worth fishing for.
I like making a dough like bait, I’ll mix beef liver, ground sausage, and ground fish, mashed rice, oatmeal and a bit of flour and let that mix sit in the fridge a couple days so the mash gets nice and soaked with those juices and I’ll stuff some in cheese cloth or those plastic dough bait balls with the holes in them. If u really want it to stink tho u could let it sit in the sun for a day and put it in a cooler on ice in the garage till u go fishing 😂 u won’t want that in your house I promise
I always use live blue gill with a giant bobber. I learned not to set the hook right away. Let them run w the bait and as soon as the stop give them time to eat the bait then set hook
Sunfish r the best to start off fishing in my opinion. Theyre EVERYWHERE & if you see any brush or cover or even rip rap theres most likely some sunfish
Man I'm hooked on carp fishing! Ive caught about 10 15lbs-40lbs carp my first 2 times. Definitely need a net now. I used old fashioned oat meal and suger with a worm on the hook.
In Texas it will cost you a few fingers and maybe a hand when a snapping turtle bites them off. But that is better than the alligators that will bite you
Long live carp.. growing up a creek by my house had plenty.. they're fun to catch not a difficult fish to catch corn was as good as anything..i never tried to eat them..i was told if you can remove the mud vein whatever that is it makes a big difference..we used to have a homemade doughball recipe of cornflakes and spinach they seemed to like just fine...i read somewhere they are considered one of the more intelligent fish out there..carp rule
Bluegill is way cheaper bait to use and is my favorite. Put 2 hotdogs in a blender to make a paste and add flour to make dough bait. works wonders if you add a bit of vegtible oil, garlic powder and onion powder for catfish. Its by far the most cheap bait
