Wow! Four lead and four mid DPU’s on the second train with a lot of lumber going somewhere! Lot of horsepower going through there! Nice catch! Was it all in one day? Must have a busy rail line there in
Magnificent catches of the steam locomotive Big Boy coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars. Hearing that puffing and chufing sound and cars coming through is absolutely crazy. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work out there, my friend, I just liked and subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
This is great, but I have to say you missed something amazing after you left Cache Junction early. I wish I could find a recording of both 4014 and the manifest (going the opposite direction) getting a highball and passing each other with horns and whistles blaring, 20,000 horses roaring to life in two very different but complementary styles. One of the most epic symphonies I've ever heard.
I've seen it once or twice before, but this was the video/picture I've been able to get of it. Now I only need to get picture/video of the Southern Pacific unit.
A couple places. First, the Big Sandy Virtual Railcam. I currently living/working about an hour north of the cam, so I bring it up when I'm at home and usually the chat keeps tabs on what's going to go through. Second is the Heritage Unit phone app. Every time one of the users sees any of the special units from any railroad they can report its location. If you join and use the free account you can set a location and the app will alert you when a unit has been reported within 150 miles, I think.
My dad and I have been there many times. The neighborhood looks a little rough but the parking lot is at the police station so it's pretty safe. But it's also a suburb of Chicago.
Thanks for the correction. It's been so long since I lived in GH that this train was still CSX and they took it all the way to Grand Rapids, I figured that's how it still was.
Then they found out I was going to film it and decided to Quickly unload it lol. Very nice video man really neat seeing how they move all this equipment around and with a CN unit leading!
Even though it seems that you have an interest in trains, I’m very interested to see the types of things they may be hauling. The train in Hallsville is near Longview where I spend a lot of time and I’ve noticed that there have been more tanks than usual lately. Thanks for sharing.
It's funny, but I came here after seeing a comment you left about an air show at Shaw. I live about 15 miles from Shaw right now, but grew up on the SCL main between Charleston and Savannah where it crosses the Ashley River. I saw your icon and user name, and said "yep that's my people." I've been to 3 airshows this year so far and probably spent an equal amount of time (over female objections) watching trains and exploring bridges and structures. Thanks for your effort put into these videos.
The East Texas Model Railroad Club is in the back of the old gym next to the fire station in Commerce, TX and there's always someone at the club on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9-12
