Modern Grower is a market farming tools company based in San Diego, California. We specialize in The Paperpot Transplanter and all the gear associated with it. Our goal is to save you time in the field so you can have more time to do everything else that you love.
We believe that too many farmers waste too much time with processes, systems, and technology that don’t work as well as they could. Through our discussions of systems and processes on the podcast we sought to change that. Now with the Paperpot Transplanter we are bringing technology into that equation. When your greatest resource as a farmer is your time, why waste it?
Over the past few years, Curtis Stone and Diego Footer have worked together on a variety of projects from live events to the immensely popular The Urban Farmer podcast. Now we've partnered up to start Paperpot Co and we’re excited to help aggregate and advance the expertise of this tool, so small-scale farmers can do their job better and faster.
This is great. I'm a farmhand at a local tractor- based organic farm, and am currently looking for land to start my own no- till or minimal till market garden. This seems super relevant to my journey; thanks for putting this out, Diego
Hey, I noticed something different about those trays that are different than the ones you normally use. Where did you get those style of trays so I can get some for my gardening? Thanks 🙏

@@michaeldesjardin4241 water scarcity is a real thing. Just ask the people in cali why the spray paint their yards green but then again water falls from the sky right
I think it's wild because it wasn't a domesticated plant, like how wild garlic and garlic are similar plants but one was domesticated and the other wasn't
Bc they grow wild & r prolific ... seemingly invasive bc they can take over. I must dig up some in our yard bc those leaves r plentiful & too broad to keep. I need the space for other crops. I never grew them. They grow wild..on their own & r only watered by the rain. I never water burdock or mullein
As a beginner in subtropical Australia, what is best...A JP5 or a paperpot transplanter? And what are the motives to transplant rather than direct seed other than time (I mean, is transplanting financial outcome worth the time invested in the extra transplanting itself?)?
I bet every single rabbit, guinea pig, chicken, pig, etc owner in your town would LOVE that left over lettuce! Esp for free. My neighbors give me all their leftovers and and cuts of the garden veggies for my rabbit and he loves it!
what happens when the seed you're planting needs more than one seed in each cell? and what about the seeds that are much smaller or awkwardly shaped that don't roll around so easily
I bought burdock root from an organic store near me and they dried quickly because I didn't put them in water. I cleaned the dried roots and ground them , put the powder in a container and I take a teaspoon of the burdock powder pour some hot water on it, let it sit for at least 20 minutes then drink it. It's a blood purifier and it has been used since before the 1930s to treat cancer
