We started getting into hockey cards seriously a number of years back, but we’re now back in action and breaking packs, blaster boxes, hobby boxes and more of all different types!

Certainly not the best name but it’s a first pull of an acetate! Still pretty dopey that we mistook it for a clear cut at first hahah. It made the box worth it! Cheers!
All MVP from both?! That’s brutal, I’m sorry to hear that. The nearly all 21-22 extended retail was a little disappointing, but the second box had a bit better selection. Very hit or miss
Not so sure we’ll open these again. Especially seeing some that have so much of the same product in the box. Back in the day Target used to have boxes that were $5-$15 that guaranteed a hit of some sort. Sad those are gone
Lackluster for stars mostly, but these mystery boxes do look like a lot of fun. It's like a double gamble. First, you don't know what packs you'll get. Second, you don't know what cards you'll get. Could be amazing, could be mediocre.
That’s the gist of the very small sample size of information about them online. It’s always going to be retail and the bonus items are nothing special. However, you can hit some young guns, retail rookies in other products and some products still have jersey swatches in retail I believe. Fun but absolutely a gamble!
Feeling jealous we have no Targets on the East Coast of Canada. I'd love to pick some of these up. At the moment, I get the mystery packs from Dollarama. They sometimes have factory sealed packs in them.
Target has come in clutch for sure! That was how both of us on here got into the hobby in high school. Those flagship tins, retail blasters and such. There even used to be $5 mystery boxes from MJ Holdings, but those have a… shady reputation hahaha. Now those Dollarama mystery packs are something we’ve never had here before hahah. @@1stpairingdbreaks I sometimes get blasters and boxes from Walmart, but they rarely have stock in. Everyone buys it up in quantity as soon as they come in. I don't usually have a chance to get any. I started going to a card shop because of it. But some blasters and boxes are cheaper there. Walmart is more convenient to get to.
Maybe it’s just by virtue of location, but the Target or Walmart stores in the states sometimes keep stock of hockey. Of course basketball and baseball are a bit more popular here, but the tales of breakers buying up all of the stock exist here as well. It’s unfortunate that so much of the product is controlled by relatively few sources. Dave & Adam’s and Steel City Collectibles sometimes have good deals if you don’t mind shipping however!
@@1stpairingdbreaks If that's in the States, if I get hit with a tariff, it would be massive. I don't like risking it. I buy from Canada only either through Amazon or Ebay(as long as the Ebay seller is based in Canada). If I ever visit the states, I'll be one of those people buying up in quantity while there, haha.
I understand that alright, the shipping on EBay between here and Canada is sometimes more than the cost of a card! DA Cards is in New York I think, near Buffalo and Steel City is of course Pittsburgh. Miraj Trading Cards is based out of Quebec though! They have some decent deals shipping wise! We’re sort of Leary of 23-24 stuff right now, the whole Bedard inflation is very inconvenient
First off, 2 Independence Day numbered parallels in the same box is crazy! That O’hoppe alone should pay for the box easily. Secondly, Adley base RC is in series one, you’re ripping series 2. These were on sale on Black Friday for 28 a box online. Killer deal.

OPC Plat always looks so good. A Makar sunset recently sold for 60 USD. A PSA 10 went for 350 in July. Maybe he looked up the 2020/21 and not the 19/20. Liked and subscribed. Feel free to check out our channel for some card openings and games.
