We are not hooked up with royalties at this time. Other youtube channels are playing our original songs on their channels. Our songs would gi very nicely with your videos. Please credit the songs to James monahan original songs and to Joe Werner . Thank you.😊
May I recommend an original song written about the mountain wilderness? DON'T GO UP TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP WITHOUT ME (C)2006 James Monanan original songs.
Why does the Colorado River flow THROUGH the Kiabab Plateau instead of around it to form Grand Canyon? Find answer at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l96MB-RjJTY.html
I'm so glad you didn't die! Thanks for sharing this adventure. I didn't know you were afraid of heights! You've spent your entire life hiking and climbing on steep cliffs! You are one tough Grand Emperor!!!
it’s really cool to see someone who is willing to share their experience, even if it is a bit nerve racking and not their finest moment. not a lot of people do that anymore on social media, very admirable!
Some of that scenery when you first started out looked like something out of LoTR. I hope to do this hike someday, but I would stay overnight at Phantom Ranch. I don't think I could do this in one day no matter if I trained for a thousand years. It's a bit like running a beagle on a treadmill, it isn't going to turn into a greyhound just because it runs a bunch! And I'm the beagle! 😅
@@mattsmid-lifemash-up3155 wanted to let you know that I think this is the best video I’ve seen of this hike on here and -that we got in on the lottery at phantom ranch so we are totally doing this hike next year! So very excited!
This is one of the best videos on here for R2R. Seriously, beautiful scenery, nice music, and no whining even when the going obviously got tough. Thanks for sharing!
I watched all 3 segments, it was excellent, especially without music which in most cases is way too loud and the talking too soft, if you want music in my opinion play it soft under the speech volume. good job on the hike
There are quite a few people who agree with you, so I made versions without the music--there are links to them in the description of each of the three Grand Canyon videos. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hoiTUXXMI0I.html
Hi Matt, so you can hike to the river and camp overnight and then make the hike back out? My wife and I love the Grand Canyon, we floated down the Colorado for 5 days covered 188 miles. We have also helicoptered over the canyon, awesome. We want to hike rim to rim but can’t do it in one day.
Yes, you can reserve a camp site or cabin at Phantom Ranch. I'm not sure how that works, since I haven't done it myself, but I'm sure the rangers in the park can give you more info about that. Good luck!
I was "like" 666 for Part 3, and I watched (and liked) all three parts. I'll never be able to make this journey, but I enjoyed--through RU-vid--living vicariously through your magic videos. Thank you!
Did that trail but went out to the river overlook which made the whole trip worth the hike. Looks like you guys missed it. It is beautiful. We came across mountain goats as well. That was cool.
My friend and I did the same hike, north rim to south rim when he was 70 and I was 68 in 4 days. It was part of the longer hike of the Arizona Trail from Utah to Mexico border divided up into multiple 2 and 3 day weekend hikes.
GC is trully a extraordinary place...a real jewell in the ,necklace of the worldwide nature beauties...i cincerally enjoy watching this marblelous video and i can literally feel every breath you taking while climing up to the top of the clifs and walking on narrow lanes literally by he edge of the doom's...i can't even imagine the measure of enjoymant and exciment that you feel during this liftime adventure for which i am certain you will never forget..thank you one more time...many greatings from Croatia..P.S ...sorry for my eventually bad english..😒
So glad you enjoyed this all the way from Croatia, and your English is great! I laughed when you said you can feel every breath--you can sure hear all my breaths while I was climbing back out! Makes me feel old and out of shape. But worth the trip!
In January 2014 we did SK down to Phantom Ranch (overnight) then to Ribbon Falls and back to Phantom Ranch (overnight) then out on the BA. It was fantastic. We needed crampons going down the SK until the 5000 ft level, but no snow the remainder of the trip. A great, uncrowded, time of the year to do it. Pretty easy until you are coming out and reach the 3 mile resthouse. We were all in our mid-60's at the time. For anyone wondering about Phantom Ranch, you need reservations. I could have done with much less volume on the music as I missed a lot of your comments.
Sounds like a great adventure! I've created versions of these videos without music due to a few people like you who expressed interest. There are links to the non-music versions in the video descriptions of each Grand Canyon video.
The native people were living here befor the Europeans arrived so why aren’t these places named with Native American names ,not stupid religious names ,angle falls ect
Awesome video, very informative too. Did you film the entire time or just pick your spots? I am doing this route in Sept 2023 so trying to learn as much as I can.
I'm glad you liked it. This video is fairly comprehensive, but I don't have nearly enough battery or storage to film non-stop. Of the 12 hours I spent hiking, these three videos cover about an hour. I emphasize landmarks you might find along the way and may skip over portions that are very repetitive. But there are not any major sections of the trail missing--it's all there. Good luck and have fun!
All right, for all you people who hate the music I put on my videos, I made a version without music, just for you. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hoiTUXXMI0I.html
Very beautiful trail. I never want to go on it ever. Those drops are a bit much for me. I wonder how many people fall off in a year. Your video is the next best thing to being there.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I don't hear much of any news of people falling off the edge--it's more people getting dehydrated that is the problem--a serious consideration for this trail. Thanks for watching!
