Do you like having the outfits separate from the vlog or should i put it together? I know some people like the teaching content and could care less what I’m wearing, but there’s also the demographic that are all about the fashion and don’t care about the teaching side of things
@@SparklingSpeducator I like to see the cool teacher tshirts and cute outfits. I'm a much older teacher so I'm not really interested in the fashion aspect, but I think it applies to younger teachers. Seeing you enjoying what you do throughout your videos is inspirational to me. Treating yourself to a cute teacher outfit or accessory is part of self care!
I am a new teacher I am in school at night teach during the day I just learned that I have to use uls but I am so lost. Where did you print out all the materials from?
@@susieelliott2674 you are placed in a grade band by admin, so I have three kids in three different grades using the program, but they all use the same printed materials. You can choose what “level” you want, but really that’s just errorless(1) , words with picture (2) and just words (3)
Sorry i really don’t video myself teaching. I know some people are comfortable with that, but a poop apocalypse or a child having some big feelings shouldn’t be on camera :)
1:29 yes we get those emails as well. I feel like those emails are getting more and more sophisticated. I honestly would have fallen for them had we not been warned about them at the beginning of the year, but maybe I'm just old and not good with tech! 😂😂
@@teacherof20 even the superintendent fell for one last year. We had someone emailing us about drones flying around in school until the tech department got it handled
Hi, Thanks for your content. I am an aspiring special education teacher who will be starting teacher's college in September 2024. I am really excited about fulfilling my life-long dream of becoming a special education teacher. However, I am extremely anxious about the process of becoming a teacher. I struggle with anxiety, and I am worried that I might not excel. When I become anxious, I experience inarticulation. I am already dreading presentations and placements. I already work in special education as an educational assistant. Any counsel on how I can alleviate my fears?
@@slay-mariah2222 I would try and pre write anything I might say during that presentation. In placements it’s not that big of a deal, honestly talking with kids I swear you pick up their speech patterns and I catch myself saying the most ridiculous things. As long as you are kind and willing to work with my kids I wouldn’t mind someone who might be fumbling words.
The cool thing is, you have a lot of stuff, need a lot of stuff, but you seem to be able to locate what you have whenever you need it. Good organization systems. All the bins and labeling pay off, especially when you have paras in the room they can read the label, instead of asking you for things!😅 Enjoy the rest of the weekend and Summer!
@@AlishaDailey-r1k I went to school for a comprehensive special education degree cognitive disabilities learning disabilities and got an emotional behavior disorder add on for ages 5-21 But I know that’s not how they do it ahynore
I agree….I HATE that the Pop Tarts aren’t individually labeled!! 🤦🏽♀️😖😡 each of my 3 kids always wanted a different flavor when they were young…so frustrating because when u leave them in the box, you can’t tell what you have left.
I love your videos! I love how you are so bubbly always 🥰 and always so PRACTICAL….some of my fellow teachers spend so much money on stuff for their class-I’m “ballin’ on a budget” so I LOVE “PRACTICAL”!
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
OMG! I've always lov d your style. I just got that exact computer cover in Pink and put my name in stickers and added extra just like yours! Love it! #comoutertwinsies
How do you tie in the IEP goals to this curriculum. I am thinking of making a goal about reading CVC words but I don;t see that skill specifically addressed in ULS, unless I have missed it. Do you have an additional reading curriculum?
@@user123-ABC-AAA so of the three doing ULS this year, two will also use sounds partners and reading mastery, but absolutely near the beginning levels. The other has iep goals that are closely related to errorless learning and hand over hand support/ sustaining attention to a task. There is a cvc portion, i have a little mini binder I keep the cvc words in to flip through, and most of the rhyming words are cvc. I might be in the classroom Thursday so send me a message on Instagram Thursday and I’ll show you?
@@SparklingSpeducator Thanks, I will get an account by then. I will not see my new classroom until August 5 or later, so at least I can gather ideas until then. I have taught ULS for 2 solid years and really struggled to keep all the materials organized, especially since I had 7 students spanning all three levels in both reading and math. I also did not use many parts. Now I will have up to 15 students. I just love the way you narrate in your videos,
I have a question. I really respect that you follow the curriculum in earnest. I was always concerned that the N2Y news article were too abstract for my students so I did not use it and chose Weekly Reader or Action magazine instead. What ages are your students?
I just love this and am wondering what you would do if you had a child who was obsessed with removing the push pins. How do you manage those behaviors so they leave it alone?
Putting the materials up on the bulletin board is awesome because you can see the whole picture. I have never done that because I always had one kiddo who would get mad and tear everything off the wall or board. How do you deal with that?
@@user123-ABC-AAA it’s been a couple of years since I had a kid like that, would just tear rip and eat it when he was upset. Lots of laminating and just using velcro to attach it. Or you can paint the bulletin board a solid color so you don’t have to worry about a background (all the main hallway boards are like that!) but I have totally gone months with nothingness on the board too, and that’s ok! Also it’s pretty high up, the shelves underneath are a three cube so probably taller than my average kiddo? And they can’t climb them because the fabric is there.
@@teondavis6005 I’m hoping I won’t have kids during my lunch time this year! I had two this year and I rarely remembered until I had eaten half of it 😂
