Wife and I did the same thing back in August. We take the South Shore from South Bend. Always nice to be able to spend a weekend in Chicago when we want to....
Amazing test. I'm very happy that I purchased the Pocket 3. In low light situation, the combination of 1inch sensor with mechanical gimbal is a clear winner. Thank you for this outstanding test.
Thanks very much for your comment and checking out the video. Glad that you found it useful. I also absolutely love my pocket 3. Most of my videos on this channel are made with it.
@@thewalkingexperience Unfortunately, I don't love the way the gimbal operates. I didn't find an option to disable the gimbal mechanism in order to operate it the way GoPro operates. Otherwise the video quality in daylight is very good, as well in low light which is outstanding.
it comes down to low light performance. Got to say in spite of me having a new Ace Pro, the Osmo pocket 3 does a better job than the Insta 360 Ace pro. The image does not jitter and it much sharper than Ace pro.
Thanks! It was kind of a warm night and being that its still winter is probably why we see a combination of Tshirts and winter coats. Im sure as the weeks go by we'll be seeing less and less winter coats.
If you're making videos for RU-vid there's really not a big enough difference between the cameras as far as video goes. If you're making videos for the Discovery Channel you're not watching this video for advice. 😉 The big difference is going to be weather and location for most people. If your weather is more nice than bad and you're not being rough with the camera the Pocket 3 is great. If your weather and location are a little more demanding the Ace Pro wins out. If you can only have one and you need a camera you can use "no matter what" you would be better off with the Ace Pro. If you can afford both, these two would be a good choice for most people.
First off, 5a m you! This is the best comparison to date! Second, are on Lewers street in Waikiki? Lastly, the Pocket 3 literally BLOWS the insta360 outta the water in low light!! Unbelievable!!
Thanks for the nice compliment! Yep, you're right on the location , very good :) I think you meant the Osmo Pocket 3 though right? The go3 in my experiences is extremely bad in lowlight and is also an insta360 product haha.
I don’t think the Pocket 3 “blows the insta360 outta the water in low light” as you say. I noticed very little difference in low light between the two. This is because they both have 1 inch sensors. Now if you compared the Pocket 3 or the Ace Pro to the GoPro 12 in low light, the GoPro 12 wouldn’t even be close because it has a smaller sensor. Edit: I looked more closely and I do think the Pocket 3 is sharper in the low light examples, but I’m not sure if this is because it’s actually sharper or if it’s due to RU-vid video compression. There’s no doubt the Pocket 3 is a very good camera, but they are for entirely different purposes.
@@bruceskousen5451 well that ‘s your opinion! Look, I’m a total Insta360 fan! I’ve had the x1, ONEx2, now the X3. I’ve had the go1,2 & now go3. But this Ace doesn’t hit the mark for me. The lowlight footage on the ace pro has too much noise and the colors are too oversaturated. Look the shot where he pans down on the Christmas tree and back up. The insta has blown out colors and glow around the lights and the pocket 3 is crisp and colors are on point (despite the low light) it BLOWS the insta outta the water! And again, that’s coming from a HIGE Insta360 fan!!
