I hit them both several times (and srixon zx5’s) several times before picking the mizunos. Honestly after the first hit I knew the mizunos were for me but I don’t like making hasty decisions. Mizunos just felt better, launched higher, went straighter and had more spin. I can’t believe how they made a cast iron feel that good but they’ve done it
"The sound.....!" I do agree the sound makes an important decision when purchasing any new club, but to game one based purely on sound is ridiculous. I am a Ping-only golfer, and yes, over the years they have been good and "bad" - but the fact remains, "If the club makes my ball fly long, high and far, I'll get use to the sound when I see my scorecard! Period!
For me the Ping spun like a top, AiSmoke ar 9 degrees was so much better, the GT series were all better than the Ping, but didn’t improve on my AiSmoke. The Gt2 however is a beautiful golf club ascetically, Ping is a bit of an ugly duckling.
I've played the TSR2 before and it was longer than the G430 MAX so not surprised the GT2 is slightly longer. I personally found the G430 MAX more of a fairway finder and went with that. Both great clubs......
There is an interesting you tube guy who has a decent channel (can't recall his name) but basically says the 10k miss is right and proves it out. Btw I have the same experience with it. Very hard to hit it left (assuming you have the right shaft for you) versus other drivers heads with the same shaft.
I just got my HZRDUS stiff shaft GT2 today. Absolutely love the feel. The sound is also incredible, idk why sound seems important but I think it’s the best sounding driver I’ve ever hit. Very excited to use this driver for the next couple years.
I'll keep my callaway big bertha b21...it's not as sexy as the Titleists but Michael's review with 112.8 SS was 297 carry, total 330ish, and it's forgiving.
IMO tie goes to the titanium driver. Overly carbon drivers ( specifically Taylormade) have tons of reports of quality issue. The more joints and creases are more potential areas for failure. Sure warranty covers you if you buy new but you don’t want to go through the hassle if possible.if ping or titleist are a similar fit have to go with them
I went to a Grand Opening at a Golf Galaxy by me. I had no plans to turn in my TSR2 for the GT2😂. Well so much for plans. The GT2 with the Hazardous Black Shaft, I picked up 11 yards vs the TSR2, tighter dispersion with the GT2. I was impressed with the GT2 actually hitting it.
I have TM Stealth woods, I got “fitted” by Titleist fitter into a GT3 with the Tensi blue 55 1k Flushed theirs on the range, HATE mine everything goes left 😢
Thank you. This is the best fix because it gets to the actual root cause - the elbows losing the triangle with the chest/their distance from one another. Most other people will tell you just need to rotate more or you’re decelerating which isn’t technically wrong but ultimately doesn’t help if you don’t know you aren’t maintaining connection
If you can 4hit a 3 iron clean in the fairway beyond 200 yds., you don't need this and will just take-up space in your bag. Plus you'll probably just cry and ruin your day everytime paint is scratched by hidden stones or pebbles when taking divots in fairway
I would love to see a test with AI Smoke / Ping 430 / Titleist GT in both drivers and three woods. I know its tough to do when Titleist releases their clubs at the end of the season instead of the beginning of the year but it would be a great review. When it comes to drivers I have found that with both your channel Michael and others out there that the 2021 models in Callaway and TM were out performing the current models not by a lot but enough to make me question why buy a new driver if my old one does just as well. Great work as always and thanks again for all your content.
1 feel 2 looks 10 sound don’t care at all and don’t understand why anyone would. Do your buddies ever say great shot but it SOUNDED A LITTLE CLICKY no they don’t
All the heads look good, and selection seems like it should be based on what types of mishits you tend towards and what you have trouble doing with a current driver that you'd want to do different with a new one. Eagle Links Golf
