During the lock down the Thames was deserted and a working boat went under Blackfriars bridge the crew were playing this song. it really gave us hope in a time of uncertainty.
I swear, if big mouth is gonna come to an end at the eighth season, they should parody this song as epitomizes what life is all about while looking back at what happened.
As I'm getting closer to the "primrose path to everlasting bonfire", this song makes me so cheerful, so I think it should be played at my funeral wherever that will be !!!!
Christians who feel offended by this scene should recognise that choosing a cross and Jesus’s tragic painful end as a symbol of their religion …. doesn’t give them the Right to claim crucifixion as solely about Christian sufferance … many other Groups and movements, other types of people were killed in History by crucifixion. This song is for them too …. a parable even …that says … even in your darkest moments …. if you can focus on the brighter side of life … you can get through incredible hardship. …. even transcend death possibly?? Well done, Eric Idle … for having the vision to write this song with such poignant lyrics …. and put it in this scene where it would have such a major impact on World consciousness.👏👏👍

This movie is great. I believe it's a criticism of the unthinking nature of religious belief, from the perspective of the freedom and authority of the individual. Those who protested this movie just goes to drive it's point further.
Sourpuss evangelicals and others of that ilk who are dumb enough to be biblical literalists no doubt find this scene sacrilegious but I think God has a sense of humor. In MY book this scene has stood the test of time as well as others in the movie even if the movie as a whole looks definitely dated by now.
