What did u do for currency at tonga? We are going to lautoka as well on this cruse next month, but they have taken noumea off because of th civil unrest and will be given another sea day instead 😢
As shame, this particular cruise is no longer leaving from Sydney, but from Brisbane instead. My TA said it's because it's cheaper. P&O's cost cutting getting ridiculous now., there are other things. We sailed on her on Oct 2023 and were disappointed by how much the product has gone down hill, in terms of nickel and diming just about everything, and a reduced choice of food items in the Waterfront. Charging $9 for eggs benny, that look like something a 10 year old put together using the cheapest Woolies ingredients, no, thanks. No more P&O for us.
Re Your comment on wooden items as souvenirs. You can bring wooden artefacts into Australia. If in doubt you can declare them upon your return. In nearly all cases Australian Customs will check them and if necessary spray them to ensure they don't have any bugs.
Thanks for the info. I also believe that the items are sprayed, withheld and put into quarantine and can be picked up at a later date after further inspection. What a hassle.
@@KWUnt same with us coming back from Fiji. I declared wooden items and customs didn't even ask to see them, they looked at the sticker and that was that.
I live in Kentucky USA and I saw a video movie many years ago about a small steamer craft that traveled the Murray river and fell in love with that part of Australia. It was much like the steamer in African Queen and traveled the entire distance of the Murray even in the low draft areas of the Murray. I hope one day to get Down Under and make it the majority of my trip. Thanks Australia for " JUST BEING THERE" YOUR A VALUABLE PART OF OUR WORLD! and unique!

Sadly we caught Covid on this cruise and ended up in isolation and missed most of it. Royal have given us future cruise credit to make up for it and we have since booked a future cruise on Ovation. This video has helped in some way to catch up on what we missed.
I loved this cruise soooo much I went on this one I still waiting if I can see my family I went with my nanny and poppa my mummy and daddy and my sister ty for this definitely going to like this one ❤🎉😊
We’re booked on this cruise for April 12-30,2024…although we’re a LITTLE concerned that we’ll go a LITTLE batty with THAT MANY sea days! Thankfully we get a day in Auckland on Day 3 and Tauranga on Day 4 before we head out for French Polynesia!
My wife and I are booked on that cruise next year as well! I absolutely love the sea days, but I can see what you mean about going a bit stir crazy! My wife doesn't enjoy them as much as I do; you'll probably find me in the casino! 😂
We have noticed before that the size of the ship is not 3 times the length of the Radiance. Noticed it after it was produced and uploaded.. You are very observant and appeciate your comment. Thank You
Great video, but your information about the size of the ship is incorrect, Ovation is 168,666 GT, Explorer is 138,194 GT and Radiance is 90,090. So as you can see Ovation is not even close to three times the size of Radiance nor is it twice the size of Explorer.
We did notice the discrepancy of its size after the production of the video and was already uploaded to youtube. Very observant and appreciate your comment.
I don't know what potato, you used to capture this footage, but it takes me back to the mid 90's. I think you should have edited it to display in 4 x 3! However since there's a lack of vlogs on Explorer, I guess it's something. I think I'll await its Amplification before I sail on her.
REALLY loved your video! We're on an 18-day Transpacific from Honolulu to Sydney in October, 2022 and got great tips from you on excursions in the South Pacific and THANK YOU for mentioning mosquitoes. I am highly allergic so I'll bring lots of bug spray. Your video was fun and so fantastic.

Katie and I ( Richard) have produced many travel videos that we have on our youtube channel. We have done 5 cruises from Sydney and frequently stay at The Four Seasons which is only 700 meters and a 4-minute walk from the ship. We always have a Full Harbour Suite which gives us a spectacular view from the 11th 13th floor. I need this so that I can film the arrival of the ship in the morning from our suite. When booking it appears that the room rate is expensive but we have calculated that it also gives access to the club lounge with food from 5pm to 8pm. All drinks alcohol included is self-serving. Coffees on arrival are free. No need to go for dinner outside the hotel saving at least 150 dollars minimum for two people. Breakfast is included. Checkout is 12.00 so a leisure stroll and board the ship at 1.00 pm. The ovation is a magnificent ship and plenty to do onboard. The entertainment is continuous all day long. Schooner bar and the pub are buzzing at night. We are on her again (third time) on the 20th of April from Sydney- New Zealand- Tahiti - Hawaii - Seatle - Vancouver/ Canada We will be filming again on this trip and upload to youtube when ready.
