We (me and wife) have traveled extensively to Seychelles, and it's absolutely forbidden to sit on the giant tortoises there. Please exercise etiquette and common sense while traveling abroad. Unfortunately, we Indians often have a poor reputation as tourists, and such behavior only reinforces that negative image.

We completely understand your sentiments it's not right to sitting on the tortoise, but they are giant tortoise they can carry 200 kg of weight on their shell without any harm and before setting on them we take a permission to key person of that area. apart from that there are few parks in country where setting or turtle clicking picture with them is ok, if you don't hurt and harm them. :)
