Ajahn Anan took ordination under Ven. Ajahn Chah in 1975 at the age of 23. He spent his early years as a monk living with his teacher, attending on him and receiving his wise guidance.
In 1984, Ajahn Anan established his own branch monastery, Wat Marp Jan, in the east of Thailand. Starting off with nine monks, the community has now grown to around 50. His compassionate presence and diverse teaching approach has attracted students from all over the world.
Ajahn Anan’s teachings emphasize being aware in the present moment, establishing our hearts in kindness, finding inner peace, and reflecting on the nature of our bodies, minds and lives in order to find freedom from suffering.

Practice and chant every morning before the sun rises. So beautiful and spiritual. Sets a positive tone for the entire day to practice loving kindness in all situations.
When we receive things that we desire that we wish for then we feel happy, when we get that which we dont desire then theres suffering that appears. A genuine happiness which is lasting and stable it doesnt give up. We need the meditation object such as the buddha, dhamma and sangha or knowing in and out breath this skillful means to bring our minds to peace. Interesting mindfulness awareness in thai theravada buddhism. Sadhu, Sadhu Ajahn Anan🙏🏻❤️🇹🇭
