The Interviewer was too personal, too critical and asking questions that were tangentially related to Anthony. Also, what kind of question is “are you lying?” Is this a talk show or an interrogation room with a single light bulb swinging from the ceiling. That being said, I would *kill* to know exactly how Perkins felt about this.
I almost think, since he was so so excellent in the early days and moving up (as they say), that as great as he was in Psycho, it may have ruined his career as it type-casted him; several famous British actors also commented and said the same.
He suppressed a lot of painful memories and feelings at that time (complex abuse and other traumas while he was young). Combined with the longing to be honest, strange reactions like this come out I guess.
For a 25 year old man, he's articulate and easy going. He speaks in complete sentences. He never gets ruffled. At minute 20 he hasn't made a false step.
Yes he's wonderful. Yet definitely not easy going, he's visibly uncomfortable and very controlled. There's a sad reason for this, a very difficult upbringing.
@@user-bj2lu9qt3o Oh yes. I would say the. only flaw in his acting is he can be too precise, too in his head. I’ve read a lot about him. He has been my favorite actor since I was eleven. He was already gone when I began to watch him. His movies helped me when I was in rough places. I understand some the darkness entwined into his personality. When I read about Perkins’ mother… let’s just say I related on some level But I love watching his gears work when he’s on game shows and his competitiveness.
Does she really asked him about the "oral s*x" scene? Like what she was expecting him to say? 🤣 I mean, actors in regular movie don't have real s*x in front of the camera, it's all illussion of the camera guy and the director.😅Corn actors do have real s*x in front the camera, but Rege is not one of them...🤣🤣🤣
@@franken-pattern Yes. He has quite a few good movies after Psycho that seems to be overlooked. Perkins and Welles complimented each other. I wish Welles could’ve directed him again
@@CorinParkerCL I remember seeing a 60s inspired 'The Truman Show' fancast on MyCast and it proposed Anthony Perkins as 'Truman' and Orson Welles as 'Christoph'....I would pay money to have seen that
I know, I cannot stomach MW or that DIPuglysonofhis- Tony is GORGEOUS and extremely intelligent- and articulate-- maybe Mike is jealous that he cannot speak FLUENT French Like Tony .... and jealous of his Stellar GORGEOUS LOOKS! Kim
He was very much in love with Tab Hunter they managed to have an affair and keep it secret for many years. Tab’s Autobiography “Tab Hunter Confidential” also made into a documentary reveals the pressure gay actors were under in Hollywood (and in society) in the 1950s through to the 70s.
@@cutekoala5492I pretty sure pressure from paramount studios when they found out about their relationship, forced them to break up and eventually it worked
Not only is Regé absolutely gorgeous he's such a deep, indepht, conversationalist and of course, his british accent he's so passionate, about his craft pleasure as always, seeing Regé and listening to him 💯💯🔥🔥😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
