Hey guys. My name is Dorian. I appreciate you guys tuning in to the vlog. I review and modify everything motorcycle related. It's important to me to do this with bikes that I've owned or currently own so I can bring you not only relevant content but informational and educational as well. Sometimes we need to do an oil change or customize our bikes. If I don't have it on the channel, I'm sure I have done it before or I can figure out how to do it amongst my friends. Everything within reason of course motorcycle related. I hope you enjoy the content and if you find the vlog entertaining or valuable, please consider subscribing. Take care and stay safe. Peace.
Yeah that’s something you keep the yourself now people who take bikes they are going how to get it A lot of dudes that steal bikes they are friend of mine got his done with this years ago and it was like four or five dudes they put that thing in the back of a pick up truck then people start putting GPS is on the bikes they would still take them and stick them in the woods until to make sure the person didn’t have a GPS but people and I had to do everything now and get right on RU-vid and find out how to do whatever if you’re into that I wouldn’t leave my motorcycle nowhere outside
Im a new owner of a 24 model. I appreciate owners showing off mods they like. Good job. I like old school so i like your decision on changing the stock turn signals out. The radiator cap really bothers me and there is some nice caps for that (i just ordered from alliexpress). I think you inspired me to so a similar video of the mods that i got on the bike. Cheers !
It’s pretty easy to drop the whole unit out and makes it vastly easier to cut pipe. I used a diamond wheel on a 4” grinder and made it a breeze. My cross pipe needed mods didn’t fit right but I’m a weldor so it turned out cool. It looks great and sounds not too loud. Drop that ugly heavy bread box out is so worth it.😊
For me the radiator needs refining....they could have designed one to fit between the frame downtubes or w.h.y. Also had old steel head and barrel shape. That is finned head wider than the barrel
Bonneville 2011, sometimes it would not start, dealer says the switch is marginal. I have to pull the clutch all the way in. I pull the clutch already as a habit, it bothers me to pull all the way in. So I will "neutralize" this switch one way or the other. Also, this little "safety device" (safety against what?) can get you stranded in the middle of nowhere if it failed.
I visited a Ducati store in 2007 and walked out with the GT1000, the more rider-friendly version of this bike. But I remember this and the Paul Smart on the floor of the store. It was the end of the riding season and they had not sold. Nobody was buying these when they were new. How I rue that I did not buy both this and a Paul Smart.
I assume that you didn't do any driving around with it. I wonder if there is an appreciable difference in power with having it on. I, personally, really don't like the way these cars sound and it's the only thing really stopping me from picking one up. I'm searching around for some obscure exhaust setups that may suit my tastes as I don't even like the way the stock exhaust sounds, either (the tone and it's too loud for how it sounds, to me). Any feedback is appreciated.
They're fast for the money. But the automatic gets old fast. There's a ton of exhaust videos out there. I think they sound ok. The silencers are useful, but they kill any good sound coming from the exhaust. Which I guess is the point.
@@dorian_vlogs I appreciate the feedback. I’ve had plenty of fast cars in my time and I’m not chasing fast with this car but, I also don’t want to kill the power. The B58 just doesn’t sound good to me at all but I’m confident that there’s got to be something out there that helps to manage the tone of it.
This mod has mproved my 1200 Thruxton. I'm in Australia but not anywhere near a town let alone a city. First is a bit fast for off road. As yes I have to ride on dirt/clay/ gravel. These Bonneville bikes are excellent off the bitumen. I have modded the suspension with Tech Engineering progressive springs and preloaders and bi turbo rear shocks. The hard stock suspension, which gave great handling, only worked on city bitumen not Australian country roads, where I needed to soak up the irregularities and still have precise , secure handling.
The Thruxton RS does not have the plastic snorkel. I’m sure it’s safe to remove it on older version of the Thruxtons. Since Triumph also remove it themselves.
Ive always maintenanced my own bikes but the dealership i bought from gives you lifetime warranty on motor and trans if you have them do all maintenance so I'll take that warranty
Errmm, from an investment standpoint you should ride it. Stagnation kills desmo ducatis. Belts rot when they aren't being used. It's a rider's bike. Go ride it, people will pay over the odds for a well riden Ducati.
Thanks. Quite a few actually. Small ones but definitely there. The dash is in a different location. The ignition switch is as well. The headlight is way forward on mine. On my frame, I have the welds to attach the fairing while yours probably doesn't. My clip ons are significantly lower than yours. I have a steering stabilizer, not sure if you do. Those are a few just off the top of my head.
Good riding. I just picked up a z900rs cafe. Was thinking about raising the bars up for more comfortable cruising. Think I should swap the bars out or just do a riser? Bike is nice how it’s set up.
@@dorian_vlogs I have seen them, and have sat on them. I don't get the appeal. Yea, they're pretty bikes. But not $30k worth for whats basically a retro styled Monster with a DS1000 motor. And the fact these fetch for more than a Streetfighter 1098S is ridiculous.
@gintonic8330 I gotcha. To each their own. But ice never in person heard or seen someone that dislikes them. But agin to each their own. I'm sure they're not for everyone.
@@dorian_vlogs I said its a good looking bike. But its at best a $13k bike, not a $30k bike. I don't know which hole these sellers are pulling these inflated numbers out of.
@@dorian_vlogs agreed. I own one, bikini fairing only, and I love it when people stop, stare and take pics. I rarely see randoms do that for any other motorbike.
My triumph wouldn’t start and I swear this is my problem. I got a 2018 street triple and it does same thing ur does. Bypassed the clutch and starter switch and started bike straight from starter and it kicked right on. Pray it is cause im 98% sure. Fuses and everything with battery was good
