Great show, seeing all the old blokes ,mates etc and the insights into the Cray industry. Being involved since a lad with my father managed safcol for 40 years in Port mac, the industry is going well except for the low prices hey lads
What a fantastic documentary . My grandfather and uncle mick and Roy Bateman worked carpenter rocks post world 2. Their boat the dolphin ( which was eventually bought by the Stankies) is now being restored in Murray Bridge I believe due to its historical significance as originally being a boat used to deliver milk along the Murray
The good ole days . I remember my Father saying look at em all. Here for El Dorado. river of Gold . West bay and Vennachar bank . full of pots .20 odd boats in anchorage. All living the Dream . And he said one day your going to 99 fish and then you.ll want 100. As i did . As Humans we always want more . For as he said we are the greediest species on the planet . It was great to grow up at sea , Steam from port to island . No electronics . B/W sounder hand steering . decks leaking . Old saying Bloody Cpt Cook didn,t have radar and gps. Some good times for all . Compass is the Hart . Anchor is the Hand . Bloody stories to tell . Great Doco Jim . Cheers .
