Tips for self-taught animators who want to break into the animation industry! Also, process videos, tutorials, and behind-the-scenes of some of my 2d animation/illustration pieces. Thanks for stopping by, now Let's Get Creative!
Well, this method didn't work for me, i don't know why, but harmony does saves our deleted work in elements folder, so i just manually imported every element and scene.
@@fabio_gioffre awesomeee imma try to get the passes tomrrow (sadly no ticket on friday)but ill try to see you saturday. I wonder if the Zebirdbrain will be there.
Hello, this was an amazing animation, I remember another animation with this sound that where two elves, a man and a woman but I CAN'T REMEMBER THE ARTIST!! can someone help me?
In fact, I'm already doing an internship at an animation studio in Brazil. And I've done some freelance work too. If you count the study part, I already have more than two years studying
please increase the video quality , at least 1080 p , and is there any video on two point constraints rigging ? like ..... 1 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WacdN-l9xdo.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L5e_DR8S3tk.html
ya I've seen it done both ways. The show I'm working on now they keep everything on 1 art layer so its faster for the animators to redraw. I don't mind having them on line and colour, especially when it comes to autopatching and adding overlay lines. But it comes down to personal preference and what the show needs.
@@fabio_gioffre before i am using moho and i really love moho its amazing software . i work in a company where i use spine 2d for making game character . so my all work is rigging based . but then i decided to go in frame by frame animation and i choose toonboom, as it has amazing drawing tools . i learn toonboom on youtube and started fbf animaton. but then suddenly i saw rigging in toonboom is also very amazing so i just started to find tutorial for this .
Please I can't figure out the auto patch thing since my Toon Boom doesn't have any files in the library window I also couldn't find the things inside the group to add manually. I'm in trial of 21 days. Is there no way of doing that in this version?
hi! yes you should be able to do it as long as you have harmony premium. You can join our channel discord and post a screen shot, that way I can help you more once I see what is going on:)
Hi! lol ya this is an old video I will see if I still have the rig. But in the meantime you can take alook on my gumroad there are some free rigs you can use to follow along. fabgioffre.gumroad.com/
@@fabio_gioffre Thank you Good sir, I am actually practicing the front walk right. Using the tutorial you have in that playlist, that's why my reply is late. Sorry about that
hi fabio! Thanks for the tutorial, you're so good in your job! I am 19 and I'm currently studing rigging and animation now and i hope someday I am as good as you! You are some kind of master for me haha ☺ Keep being the best!!!
So for the rig of the arm you just use pegs and enveloppe deformer, is it just your way to do it ? Or is it common, because I know that we can use the rigging tool to make bones for the arm. What's the better way ? Using only the rigging tool to make bones seems more easier
Hi! and yes it really depends on what the rig is being used for. The bones are good for simple movements but any complex animation its really tough to make it look good without an envelope deformer. Most of the shows I have worked on they use evnelope deformers because it gives the animator alot of freedom to get some dynamic poses. What are you building your rig for?
@@fabio_gioffre Thanks you for your answer! Honestly, I am doing this rig to practice, it's actually the first time I'm doing that, I'm new at Harmony. The point is to make a good rig to have a solid base, and later when I need an example I can refere on what I learned here. I will also eventualy train animation with this rig.
Hello, i have a little problem, when i import the sound, toon boom harmony makes sound quality worse. I already have tried to change sound's format from mp3 to wav, and changed bitrate , but its not helping, sound quality is still bad. Can you please help?
hmm intersting, maybe you can find something in this doucmentation: docs.toonboom.com/help/harmony-14/premium/reference/dialog-box/sound-settings-dialog-box.html Also where did u record the sound?
@@fabio_gioffre Thanks for the response, i will try to describe the problem better. Basically, i downloaded a music file, and when i imported it into my toon boom harmony project, sound quality became worse, and i mean, when i tried to play the music file what i imported, through the music player, it sounded good, it sounded bad only in toon boom harmony. So, yep, it is because of toon boom harmony. And, after that, i tried to change sound in *file* >> *export* >> *movie* and you know, there actually was "movie options" Button, (by clicking on this button i could change the sound settings), but, for some unknown reason, i just couldn't click on that button, it was just unclickable. (Also i tried to change video format from "H.264/MPEG-4(*.mov)" To "Windows Media Video (*.wmv)" And its actually hepled, i finally could click on the *movie options* button, and change the sound settings,, but when im trying to export the video with this video format, toom boom harmony just crushes, yep, it just stops on 98% and crushes every single time.) And, you know, i found out, what if im gonna go to the *file* and after that go to the *export*, there is gonna be a *audio* button. And when im clicking on it, it opens the sound settings, and that exactly what i need, because in that settings, i can change sound "rate" To the 48.000, and this finally makes sound quality good, and just like in the original file. But the problem is what, in this "audio export" Thing, i could only export audio, without animation. So right now i can export animation with horrible sound quality, or export good sound, but without animation.
MY GOD YOU SAVED MY LIFE!, i almost lost my university work because it got corrupted. Some things did disapeard but almost all the file was revocered Thank you so much!!
@@terrydunn4474 like in Harmony advanced? I think you can make very simple rigs but it has to be done in the timeline. Check if there is an option to add pegs when you press the plus button on the right on the timeline view?
I am having problems with the master controllers, when I do a full body rotation with the controller there is no head or arms or legs in my character only the torso feet and hands. What is the problem?
hmm maybe check the exposure of the drawings? try and collapse the mastershadow peg and go to the end of the timeline and press f5 to extend the exposure all the way down.
No problem, I also just made an updated version of this video if you wanted to check that out as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m_hs9519r2U.html
Hi Fabio. At 1:13:31 I can't figure out how dragging that one corner turns that triangle shape into the curved shape. Is there a key being held down while you drag it? Thank you!
I started from the rectangle, then dragged the bottom right corner up to make the triangle but when I drag the bottom left corner like you did I don't get the same shape. If I hold alt it curves the lines but it doesn't create the same shape as yours, if I don't hold alt the lines are just straight. Going through your video frame-by-frame it pops from one shape to another and the cursor jumped is it just edited down? Thanks!
@@oceanbreezei5q oh ya so i did edit it after. But I basically used the handles and moves the line into the shape I wanted. I just cut it for time purposes because it can sometimes take awhile
@@fabio_gioffre Yes sorry I thought it was some kind of magic trick at first but once I saw the cursor jump from one place to another I thought hmmm..maybe something is missing here? Thank you for clarifying and for this tutorial!
I legitimately cannot thank you enough. I thought I'd lost an entire project because I was stupid enough to not make any copies You're a life saver, dude!!
@@fabio_gioffre Actually, it was my final project for this semester at Uni. Still in the early stages, but glad I could get it back I'll be making copies from now on!
ya you could be right. I have never tried moho but toonboom can be very complicated. There are just so many things packed in, its pretty inimidating to start out.
@@fabio_gioffre I'm a freshman in animation (and drawing). I thought characters had to be in 3D to flip 360°. But your video showed me how 2D characters are actually made and rigged to move and rotate.
Why the effort for such realistic movements when the character himself is not realistic? Move the whole body but who will see these details? And if we do without doing it, what will happen?
@@chriskaluila7362 ya I think that's something that the animators talk about when they are coming up with a style for the show/short. What is necessary to make the best possible product on schedule.
