Superb job by DuVall treating the material with respect and without trying to do a bad imitation of Layne. This song hits hard every time, and that is a testament to the whole band, including both Layne and William. 🤘
Though technically a better singer, Duvall will never sing these songs the same as Layne did. The words will never mean the same as they did. I've noticed that he actually doesn't even try to do that. Such respect.
thank you for this. i’ve heard a few of these recordings before but never saw the videos. a lot of the songs (covers) were never even released. absolutely incredible.

It should be said that this singer did a perfect job in this song. He was definitely not a poor man's Layne. The only issue is that aic were covering themselves with a different singer. Duvall reproduced layne's voice perfectly but this was a monodimensional experience since he clearly did not feel what he sang, he was just imitating the original and he couldn't care less about the meaning behind the song. He reproduced instead of creating. I honestly dont understand why aic should cover themselves using their own name. This is mostly a self indulgent exercise, formally perfect but lacking spontaneity and substance.
Can we please stop comparing DuVall to Staley?? We all know Layne is irreplaceable, but DuVall is very talented in his own way as well, and to be honest even though I love Layne to death I think DuVall did him justice here.
Everyone knows Layne was irreplaceable. I don't even think i've ever even listened to an AIC song with the new singer until now. Honestly, I don't hate it. He's not the same, but pretty damn good in his own way. Big shoes to fill.

Twenty years later people are repeating the same dilemma. Layne vs. Duvall. We all know Layne is unique and Duvall himself recognizes that, respects that legacy and sings with great humility. On the other hand we must recognize the courage of a full band to go above their emotional feelings of missing Layne and decide to continue that legacy. We should limit our critique to thank them for that gesture. Thank you Layne, thank you Mike Starr, thank you Sean, thank you Jerry, thank you Mike Inez, theank William. Much respect.
I was at this gig. Scary still to think only 12 months later he was taken from us. That truly saddened me. I have a great photo of him I took from backstage at this show. His lyrics are haunting knowing now what we know about the world we live in.
Pretty languid. Maybe just the Audio here is weak (no offense sounds great for audience recording), but I love this song and this is pretty boring. Also doesn’t really make sense with the visuals. Alzheimer’s is about burning down your brain…?
This is my first Higher Truth concert. I never got to see Chris live, only RU-vid and two DVD’s I bought and all his Cd’s with all his bands and solo. I love him, he is my best friend in the world❤️🙂💕. Thank you so much for this concert❤️🙂💕
Still bummed I didn’t manage to go see this show, also my last day in the Uk before I moved away for good. I always thought i would have had another chance. I’ll never get over the passing of this incredible human being 💔
