Hello! I do not have experience with the Xbox Elite rim but I could say the metal quick release you purchase separately for the WRC makes things a lot more sturdier than the plastic QR it comes with! The FFB is more dependent on the base you’re using and how much torque and feedback you adjust.
@@RetroSnakey I was able to answer my own question as I have just upgraded from the old Xbox Elite P1 to the WRC with the clubsport adapter. To say it is chalk and cheese is an understatement. Despite not changing one single setting on the wheelbase or in the sim, the fidelity of the force feedback has dramatically improved and that is no exaggeration. I am actually astounded how something as simple as the interface between the rim and the wheelbase can make such a dramatic difference since it is not as if the old interface wasn't sturdy - it was!
Hello! I modified an existing mount for a different base to the Simagic here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5897690 However, I also found it sat a bit too high. So I modified it again to attach to the “X” slot on the plate rather than the 2 small holes at the top. I didn’t upload that modification to thingiverse but when I get a chance I’ll take care of that!
I love love my gt neo, but i bought the fx pro and wow the quality is insane. I still know the gt neo is plastic its great for the price as everyone says but it is not a flagship wheel. Its still plastic and the shifters are downgraded. The knobs are downgraded even the rotaries are downgraded. I want people to be realistic here. As stated the gt neo is a fantastic budget wheel. Great quality for a wheel in general. But when you feel the fx pro you can feel the corners cut for the price. Anynoyd in the ecosystem who wants a flagship wheel get the fx pro anynody who just wants a great whele for a great price get the gt neo. I think people are getring a bit out of hand on the gt neo making it so people get it and go oh its plastic begause almost nobody mentions its not real cf its a composite of plastic. Again great budget wheel but people are setting real consumers expectations to high. Alot of consumers dont get to feel alot of wheels so to them they dont know what to expect.
Hello! I used it for many years. But I developed a right shoulder issue (unrelated to using the machine, work things..) and I had to stop. I can only exercise my legs so I go on runs now. It was a great machine though!
Thanks for the kind words! I’m actually Brazilian. 😄 And I’m definitely happy with the Simagic setup! Very impressed with all their gear so far. Just posted a comparison video of the FX Pro and the Neo as well. 😀
Yes, I saw that! Great stuff. I got my neo 2 weeks ago and have a regular FX, not the pro and the Neo just blows it's socks off. I'm a huge simagic fan@@RetroSnakey
Great video mate. What I've been trying to find is some more detail on the pre baked dashes in the pro. Specifically the dash for the Mercedes W12/W13 in iRacing. Do you know of anywhere where people can get an in depth look at this?
Hey Luke! So since the FX Pro only works with Simagics Software for now, you’re at their dash mercy. As far as the “F1 dash” they provide, it’s not a replica to the Mercedes one but they do have one that’s quite useful for F1 cars in general. I’m sure it has to do with licensing, would have to pay Mercedes a ton to include that..!
I just got a Neo it's my first Simagic wheel, and I love it Is going to replace my Cube Controls GT Zero s my daily rim, the customization with Simhub is endless option, oh yea Im using it with Maglink on fanatec dd2 video on my channel of first drive POV, keep up the good work
That’s awesome to hear! Yes the rim with SimHub you can do much more customization than what SimPro Manager allows. Maybe in the near future Simagic works with SimHub folks for the FX Pro dash support while wired in.. I know SimPro Manager has some great Dashes but it can’t compete with something like Lovely Dashboard..
I have both the FX Pro and the GT NEO and love them both. I use the FX Pro for F1, LMP and other formula cars and the NEO for all my GTs, Touring cars etc. What I miss when using the NEO is the ability to change my FFB settings on the fly on the LED screen, but other than that, I really don't look at the screen. It's much easier to check the on-screen wheel settings and less likely to make a mistake by having to take your eyes off the track. The quality is obviously somewhat better with the FX Pro, with its Carbon fiber face plate, carbon fiber paddles and aluminum body. The small increase in width of the GT does make a big difference too. The GT NEO, as the name suggests, is intended and designed for GT style cars and the FX Pro for Formula style cars.
Mate the gt Neo is perfect for even formula car since it’s so light. 290mm vs 300mm so I don’t know how u feel that 300mm is so much bigger then the 290mm…. Your not making sense in that regard if I have got the right idea
You would be surprised after using both of them, how different they feel. I didn't say it's So much bigger, I said, the small increase in size makes a big difference, which it does. 300mm is generally regarded as Big, as most real F1 wheels are 270mm to 280. With sim racing, Fanatec's Formula wheel I had was 270mm as an example. You can do formula racing with a larger round wheel, but it won't feel the same! @@Max__apex
I want to get a formula rim. I have the Neo already. It’s interesting you don’t look at the screen much. Would it be worth it going with the FX-C instead?
@@mikemophoto It's a hard one, as the FX Pro does have many additional features that the FX C doesn't. Additional paddles, additional rotary encoder and even though I don't use the screen to monitor anything when driving, I do use it to adjust FFB, which is handy. I do also like the rev limiter lights on the FX Pro, which I don't think the FX C has any.
Can confirm that the gt neo is better then the FX in use more responsive and a lot more comfortable to hold. Gt NEO is an amazing rim🎉 Glad I got the GTS and GT NEO for price of the FX alone
Hello, I imagine that your cockpit has 500 mm of interior width. I have read the plan that you gave me and it measures 240 mm (horizontal profile arm) My cockpit has an interior width of 590 mm. Therefore I suspect that I will have to go to a 285 mm horizontal profile, what do you think? thank you so much!!
8/10? You must be joking! It's typical for TrackRacer to show pictures of items not included in the box, especially because it actually happens with parts, too, not only tools! Also, correctly you outlined that some parts are wrong size. I had similar problems. Finally, stability of all RaceTracker keyboard trays is a major problem. My 1st gen shelf gets unscrewed and falls, as the design is wrong and the company did not admit any fault. Total waste of money, to be avoided.
Congratulations, it looks robust, can you tell the measurement in cm. of aluminum profiles? Above all, I am interested in the horizontal measurement and to know if you use 40 or 45 profiles. Thank you very much
Hello! So while I have changed things around a bit and customized to a different setup, you should be able to get dimensions from the original manual in TrakRacer’s website which I am putting the link for here! drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1vrNqbJMUcXlemKu168vWzhXtRRV0z-v6?usp=sharing Hope that helps!
Thank you for all of the great info. New too all of this. I have triple screens. Struggling as to how to record only the center screen. Any tips? My thanks. Trying to record ACC.
Hey Mark! Thanks for checking out the video. First things first, it has been quite some time since I posted that video so a few settings have changed since with the newest OBS version. As far as capturing though, it should be the same: Add the Game Capture to your source list. Then you can right click on the capture, go to filters and one of the options there with the "+" button will give you an option to crop the source. Depending on the resolution of your displays, you'd crop a different amount of vertical lines. For instance, if you have triple 1440p displays (2560x1440 resolution), you crop 2560 from the left and 2560 from the right. Triple 1080p displays (1920x1080), you crop 1080 from each side. For 4K monitors (3840x2160), you crop 3840 from each side. That should center your game capture on your scene and you should only get the center display. Hope that helps!
Hello! So that's a combination of an arm and a tablet clip I found on Amazon: Arm: amzn.to/3M9JR8v Clip: amzn.to/3MbRegH I just clipped the arm to the rear of my base bracket that had some room available. I've changed the setup a bit since then and will have an updated video soon but having the tablets that way worked out perfectly fine!
My experience has been bipolar. Dealing with the Australian customer service, absolutely sucked. Totally shit and on par with the shit service I got from fanatec. However, Dealing with the customer service in the United States has been the complete opposite and Totally fantastic. My humble advice is that if you live in the usa, contact trak racer in Texas, its actually a new jersey number but regardless, give them a call, they're nothing like the aussies who clearly don't give a shit about your feelings about their level of service, or lack thereof.
First of great video! Second which trac racer cockpit you have and third i also looking to build one with sim racing and fps gaming in mind which mouse tray would you recommend. Sorry tried the link for the cockpit didnt work unfortunately.
Hello! Thanks for checking out the video. So as far as the cockpit that I own, it's the TR80 listed here: trakracer.com/collections/simulators/products/tr80-racing-simulator-mk5 However, mine was the first edition and they've made a couple of revisions to it to improve it and based on the pictures, nice improvements were made! As far as a mouse tray, I use this one: trakracer.com/products/computer-mouse-shelf-inc-40x40mm-profile-brackets?_pos=1&_sid=0b6793e4a&_ss=r It attaches itself to the side of the profile at the bottom of the cockpit. It works quite well for me. However, you did mention playing some FPS games on the rig. The issue with that is the mouse tray stays quite low compared to if you were to have it on a desk so your arm isn't necessarily at the best angle to use the mouse for long hours of gaming; you might have some pain on your wrist. For that reason, I don't suggest using it for long periods of time at that configuration. My cockpit is only used for racing so I use the mouse just to browse things and click to start a race type of thing. An actual mouse pad that would be at a somewhat comfortable level would require some modification to that mouse kit I posted, which can technically be done since this type of cockpit is fully configurable but that's something I haven't tried.
I currently have a desk mount setup for racing and flight sim. Looking at the TR80-LITE. My monitor is on a wall mount behind a desk. I plan to install wheels on the rig so I can move it to and from the desk. I am concerned with now low the seat is. Is there a way to raise the height of the seat to make it more desk height?
Hi Greg, So unless you do some sort of custom modification, maybe adding extra profiles to where the seat connects, you can’t really raise it. There are different slots you can mount the seat to but it doesn’t raise it as much.
Warning! I own the new McLaren wheel, CSL DD and CSL load cell pedals. They feel great and took my new hobby to another level after owning a T300 belt drive (which wasn’t that bad). However the only FANATEC product I own that hasn’t failed is the DD wheel base. Within 4 months the McLaren wheel cracked at the shifter pivot point and where the QR is mounted. Following many delayed emails and being accused of over tightening, they accepted it was caused by a weakness and replaced the back half of the wheel. Soon after it was returned the load cell pedal completely failed. As requested by FANATEC I sent video footage before sending the pedals back. I waited weeks before emailing them to ask when they will be returned. FANATEC claimed they could not fault them and they were sent back. Within minutes I experienced the same issue. Frustrations were building due to the failures experienced compounded by the very long response times by FANATEC when seeking help for new equipment that could not used. However I yet again send an email pleading for a remedy. While waiting for a response an electrical technician overheard what I experienced and offered to inspect. Minutes later the technician confirmed a faulty voltage regulator within the circuit board of the load cell brake pedal. I have been enjoying my sim racing ever since. My only regret is not doing more research before deciding to purchase equipment from FANATEC. Take a look at FANATEC’s own forum to see how many customers are experiencing the same issues. Regardless of the failures experienced I would not have written this if it wasn’t for the very poor customer service / response times. I only hope this gets better soon for FANATEC. At the moment they are making it easy for companies such as MOZA to take over.
i just finished assembling this and I think it is too heavy, too large and with too many sharp edges. It also cannot be tilted. given its weight, don’t push too hard on either end, or put any weight on it as it will bend the hinges. Using a mouse will put too much weight on one side. I will use it, as is, but not too happy. gotta be better solutions.
You’re right! I’ve had it for almost 2 years and never really found a solution to not have it tilt, unless mounted to the center of the tray profile. I’ve basically learned that it is what is it is and stopped worrying about it. It has been working on since I installed although with the slight tight.
Will there be a noticeable difference between this screen and the older model with 144hz and a little bit lower resolution? I have a 34” wide and thinking of upgrading, I only use for racing (iracing) and i have 3080rtx
Hi Louis, So in regards to IRacing, it’s a bit of an older game which runs an older engine as well. The game doesn’t look as good as something like Assetto Corsa Competizione, and a RTX3080 graphics card can easily drive IRacing at very high resolutions and frames per second. That being said, this Samsung G9 is an absolute monster of a display and yes, it will look quite a bit better than something with a lower resolution. The refresh rate not as much but the 240Hz on this display really shines. A display with 144Hz is very good but there’s a pretty large price diference.
Hello, I’ve recently changed a few things around my rig and posted a my current setup here: My Sim Racing Gaming PC Rig in 2022! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--hA4TNEwaC8.html Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Mansoor, Thanks!! The simple edits I did on this video I use the PC I show in the end of the video that I use for some flight simulation. It works quite well for that!
Hi Jim, So the bitrate is what plays the role here. I have it set quite high at 40k-60k VBR and depending on how much activity there is going on your files can get quite large. If you don’t mind the slightly lower quality you normally see on live streams, you can bring that down to 10-20 and compare the quality. Take a few 5 minute videos and you can check your file size and if you’re happy with the result you can keep it there. 👍
Looks great! Do you think this would work well with a flight HOTAS like the Logitech G X56? I’m looking for an easy low profile flight solution for my Sim-Lab setup.
Hey Justin! So it does have space to put the HOTAS. But I’m not sure if it would work that well. It would depend on how much you tighten the hinge screws. Having them too loose you’d have devices floating around with the tray. But that’s what also makes it easy to sway in and out of the way. Also, keep in mind I talked about the tray slightly slanted if the profile isn’t mounted down center like mine isn’t. Doesn’t bother me really but could be a scenario where that happens for you.
Yes, that is perfectly Normal. That's because the Field of View in games is completely different from how an actual eye works. With your eyes you have a focal Point which is the center of your sight, but still get peripheral vision. Because on a Monitor that is impossible you have a certain Field of View fixed in the Engine which renders all objects there. To simulate an eye and create a more realistic image on the Monitor the outer edges are stretched out to seem more natural. Certain Game Engines have more or less of that effect but it's always in use.
@@kolysion164 Hopefully new game engines are able to change that a bit. Super Ultrawide displays are quite ahead of their time and most games aren't designed to go further than the standard 16:9 (1920x1080, 2560x1440, or 3840x2160) resolutions. Even on Ultrawide displays (21:9) you see a bit of stretching. The idea isn't for you to look at the sides of the screen though, rather, to use it as a "filler" to give you more immersion on the game you are playing.
ACC uses Unreal Engine 4. It's quite tasking on computers since it looks great at the cost of frames per second. You need a high end graphics card in order to get respectable frames per second at such high resolutions such as 5120x1440 the 49" Super Ultrawide has (RTX 3080 or 3090). It does have projection correction if you are using an actual triple screen setup. The 49" is a single display and ACC sees it as a single display so there isn't an option for that, only FOV adjustments. Again, it's dependable on the game engine and the only real simulator that uses UE4 is ACC. As super ultrawide screens become more relevant, developers could try to implement it better, hopefully on Unreal Engine 5 that's something that can be looked at.
Thx for you vid ...short l, clear and useful 👍🏽 I know I'm late ur vid is little bit old but I'm newest in VR and my question is simple: what do I have to chose between the Oculus rift CV1 and the Quest 1? Which one of the two is gonna offer me a better experience? Thanks again 😉
Hello! So it's a bit of a "Catch 22" here. While the Quest 1 does have a higher resolution, the important thing to mention here is the Refresh Rate. The Quest 1 has a 72Hz refresh rate while the CV1 has a 90. In the world of VR, refresh rate matters a lot and the higher, the better the experience. That being said, the fact the Quest 1 can be used standalone rather than attached to a computer is a big plus. Having it cordless and enjoying games directly on it is super fun when not being used at the computer. As I mentioned on the video, you can use the Quest 1 wired on the PC just like a Rift is and I notice no real downsides to that. If I had to choose between the 2, I would still take the Quest 1 just because of the experience you get outside of being connected to the computer, it's super fun and you can take it on the go to places and have others enjoy the experience!
Is the swivel keyboard stable ? Reason why Im asking is if i was playing call of duty on my keyboard in my rig will it flex much if I apply pressure on the keyboard/mount? And are there space for my mouse on the mount?
Hi Albert, So the swivel itself is very sturdy, can easily hold the weight of heavy arms on top of it to type due to the steel and the extruded aluminum material. The only caveat is due on my setup I have to mount the bottom profiles to the far left of the tray which gives it a small slant to the right, so not exactly level. However, I’ve gotten used to it, couldn’t find a way to really tight that and make it level unless I moved the profile more to the center but then it will be too far forward under the wheel base. As far as mouse, not really unless you have a smaller factor keyboard. But trakracer does sell a separate mouse piece that attaches to the right of the rig and raises up. It’s what I use: trakracer.com/collections/accessories/products/computer-mouse-shelf-inc-40x40mm-profile-brackets Hope that helps!
@@RetroSnakey Thank you so much. I feel more at ease with your answer. I ordered my tr 160 awhile back, delivery date is end of April along with the keyboard and mouse mount. Can't wait to set it up.
