Something similar to this camouflage render is in "All You Need Is Kill" science fiction novel. Maybe Tom Cruise was reading it as later he starred in Edge of Tomorrow based on that book .
I am not a fighter pilot , but when a formation of 2 fighter intercept a threat , i belive the standard approach is one in the back on a safe distance and one on the side to comunicate with the the pilot who is a potential threath ..
Always amuses me that ever since The Six Million Dollar Man, that American schlock cinema slows down the action to suggest speed...it's like dumbing down the action for stupid local audiences...
Im not sure if that was makeup, but if it wasnt Cruise actually looks pretty slavic with the mustache. The explosions look really good too compared to Hollywood standards
Funny, but if I got the chance to be God for a while, first thing I'd do is march right to every single children hospital in the country and make things right, followed by the rest of the world. But that's me - and this is Hollywood bullshit, written for gullible Christians, who are not known for critical thinking and still think free will is a good argument for God's indifference and/or powerlessness towards human sufferance.
The gig would have been up if the guard actually walked down corridor, he'll either run into the screen or see the discrepancies as the agents move the screen back. Did the guard really though he saw something, or maybe he's just having an off day.
What's noticeable is that the English are dressed well, orderly, have advanced weapons and are calm and collected; overall civilized. The Scots are scruffy, rough-looking and ragged; yet are loud, proud and show fierce intimidation, determination and courage.
The most fun movie gadgets are the ones you can actually see in how they work and where their limitations are. It better throws a stake into their use for some good drama like in this scene with the camera and the rendering. Far more interesting than holograms and nanobots.
Honestly, "American tourist" is not the type of disguise I'd consider when exfiltrating a Russian government building. I mean, if an alarm is tripped and the guards don't find the guy, they're gonna pin it on the nearest American and call it a day, lol
