I didn’t do much comparison. Originally I was going to go with the Canyon Sender but it sold out. I think it also had SRAM brakes which I hate. This came with TRPs and Fox which is rad. Also have buddies riding the V4s and one on a V5 and they all love them.

I purchased a spire Alloy and I am having some issues regarding switching to a rear Coil Shock. How much do weigh? What pound spring are you using?
@LoamerMTB
@LoamerMTB Месяц назад
@@user-oi5ik2ev9l I weigh 160 lbs with riding gear. I am running a 400 lb spring on a rockshox coil shock with 2 out 5 clicks of the HBO (last 20% of travel becomes more progressive to prevent bottom outs). Compression is fully open and rebound is pretty much almost fully open. Just a few clicks to slow it down a touch. This puts me at about 30% sag and I’ve never felt a bottom out. Feels amazing. I ran air for a few rides recently at prefer coil by a lot.
@user-oi5ik2ev9l
@user-oi5ik2ev9l Месяц назад
@@LoamerMTB thanks! I am 185 pounds and I’m riding a DVO Jade X coil shock with a 425-500 progressive spring. 170psi on the bladder and rebound set half way (14 of 28 clicks). Feels great on descents, but Kind of feels like it might bottom out on moderate jumps… I tried the next spring up (475-575) but apparently it is too much for my weight. I am a bit lost at the moment.
@LoamerMTB
@LoamerMTB Месяц назад
@@user-oi5ik2ev9l If you have a few bucks to blow you could give the next spring a try. Might be a bit less sag but if it feels good and prevents bottom outs it might work. Is there a compression setting on your shock? Could try firming that up a bit as well.
@LoamerMTB
@LoamerMTB Месяц назад
@@user-oi5ik2ev9l I miss read that. If you’re already a on the spring above your weight and still bottoming out I have no ideas. You could try a rockshox with the progressive coil and HBO but that’s an expensive upgrade. Honestly I might just run the air shock the bike came with. It’s pretty badass and you’ll be able to dial it in perfect. I just personally prefer coil but if I was bottoming out I’d just run the Fox float X2. It’s a fun setup. Can boost on that thing.

@@LoamerMTB there is a 3 position lever (open, mid, closed) and an air bladder. I got the next spring (475-575) but it feels really awkward… with little preload it is hard to match both suspensions for a bunny hop for example.
