GA esp. Atlanta is getting more expensive, GA has income tax too, so have marketable skills when you come and acting training if you are going into that field

I do know that actors go to LA because it’s the home of their film industry! But omg LA is really expensive to live there! I born and raised in Idaho my whole life! I have roommates, we wanted to move to LA one day. We noticed that there are homeless people everywhere. Guess what, homelessness are in EVERY STATE 😂
Absolute Gold! Thank you for this. You have a wealth of knowledge and creative ideas. I'm in Cali, running for Inyo County Film Commissioner and my ideas fall right in line with yours, so clearly I am on the right path! Kudos and good work!
Filmmakers are always broke. I think they can afford a lawyer making there 2nd or 3rd film but they can't hire a lawyer making there 1st film. But I'm planning on becoming a producer anyway.😁
If you’re black American your place is in Georgia because it’s economically politically built and controlled by us for us, it’s apart of the black American ancestral land since slavery
There's more studios and acting schools here but more production there. I'd say it depends on what phase of your career you're at - if you're early in your career come to Los Angeles and train then when you're ready to work - move to Georgia. In the old days people would move to New York to train then move to Hollywood to "get famous". Now LA is the best place to train and ATL is the best place to work.
It all depends on your particular circumstances.I live in LA and my rent is $340 per month; in an apartment by myself - no roommates. I'm paying $200 per month to train at Playhouse West (a GREAT school and a LOT less than I'd be paying to train at some place like Stella Adler or the American Academy of Dramatic Arts).
Visit both locations and see what you think is best for you as a filmmaker... I'm from atlanta but planning on moving to LA due to me having a crew ready out there.
Lived and worked in LA for 9 years, then ATL for a few months. I encourage everyone to go to LA for at least a year. You'll find that all television and film is not created equal. There's nothing quite like working on A List big budget productions. Literally different worlds.
Everybody keeps saying that but I'm paying $340 per month for a studio apartment in North Hills, Los Angeles (about five or ten minutes from Hollywood). I live by myself; with no roommates. It all depends on your particular circumstances.
