I play and record whatever comes to mind (mostly Fallout). These are long videos with no commentary. You don't have to watch them if you don't like them. I also showcase mods that I find interesting. My older videos may not look good and (maybe) are poorly edited. Also, expect some English errors.

Hi thx much for so great content though could you please make 2 private videos your mods playlist public again? I can't watch those /watch?v=Yh3fWSU2iLM&li and /watch?v=j9YgZ7ENIks they come from "Fallout 3 Mods" playlist. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! Don't let FO3 community die and promote the fantastic content like you always do. I tried watching the private vids from Wayback Machine but apparently they weren't popular enough to be archived
These two unavailable videos had editing errors, so I deleted and uploaded the correct videos. I forgot to remove them from the playlist. Thanks for alerting me to this.
This texture mod has been in my load order for a while now. Earth has never looked so good 😇. I've got so many upscaled additions and tweaks that my 3080 is constantly over 40% utilized with over 9gb of my 32gb ddr4 ram used.
This video was supposed to be ready last Wednesday, but I was busy with other things. Aligning “before and after” videos in almost perfect sync can be a pain.
Vurt's Flora Overhaul has resource files available on the FO3LODGen page. Choose the version you are using: - Vurt's Flora Overhaul Dead LOD. - Vurt's Flora Overhaul Devastation LOD. - Vurt's Flora Overhaul Forested LOD. Your mod manager will install the files as any other file. Tree LOD is generated as *Objects LOD* by xLODGen. I never had issues with this one. *Make sure that Vurts Flora mod and the resource files win potential conflicts/have high priority in the mod manager.* I never used the Taller DC mod, so I don't have much experience with it. I went to the mod page and used the "Preview file contents" in the Files tab to see the files provided. *Apparently, the mod provides pre-generated LOD meshes for the World Spaces. Many "Blocks" folders are in the "meshes/landscape/LOD" directory.* When xLODGen starts, it will ignore cells where there's already pre-generated LOD. *What I would do:* 1 - Delete, hide, or move the folders from the path above. 2 - Delete any generated LOD in the xLODGen output folder, and only then run the tool. If you look at the comment section of this mod, many people have issues with the LOD.
Drarack's new wave of FOSE-powered mods is impressive. I didn't expect many backports or implementations of New Vegas' latest (and more complex) mods to FO3, considering that FOSE is less advanced than xNVSE, but I'm glad I was wrong. ButcherPete FOSE and Command Extender - Script Extender mods that add functions from New Vegas to FO3 - have been a great help.
@@dcghoul101 This came up as a suggestion from my last video, and it's pretty cool to see these videos. Thanks - these mods were tricky to make and so it's cool people are finding them useful! I hate how left behind FO3 is, so while I have time, trying to leave it in slightly better condition than it was when I got there. What TTW adds doesn't come close to what is lost in the way of new story mods, stuff to do, etc. Slight rant but I really wish TTW never happened because FOSE would likely have been taken on by new modders. Would it be ok if I linked this to the mod page? I have no demo for this, and tbh, you're better at this stuff than me.
@@Drarack-dn8lw Hi. Feel free to use this video and any others I make. It's great to see people still creating mods for Fallout 3. I also think the Fo3 modding never reached its full potential. The Capital Wasteland deserves more attention.
I've never even thought to touch this aspect of the game. I do appreciate the author's work though, for what it is. And thank you! I always go back to your comment under the F4 pop-up inventory mod for the correct settings ui-wise.
I'm happy to help. That Loot Menu mod was one of the best things to be ported to Fallout 3. All that was needed was for someone to adjust the font and size to the DarNfied UI standard. These Lod mesh mods make the originals look pretty ugly. The radio towers have an even uglier lod. They look more like a low-res pine tree than metal structure.
This mod only provides a "gasstation01_lod.nif" file and its textures, so there's no conflict with the LOD trees added by any mod. Let's imagine a situation where two LOD mods provide a version of the "gasstation01_lod.nif" file. The one with higher priority wins.
After all these years, I still pause my in-game activities to see the landscape, the sunset, or the sunrise (like 03:33 or 03:44). Considering the hardware and software limitations of the time, the team at Bethesda created an appealing atmosphere for the Capital Wasteland. The concept art of Adam Adamowicz (RIP) was essential to this process. Bethesda posted everything on Flickr. www.flickr.com/photos/47857688@N08/albums/72157629320774861/ Also, Inon Zur's soundtrack plays an important role (for me) in creating the atmosphere. My personal favorite tracks: - What Remains: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xRwRe_vej_A.html - Ashes and Sand ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LdWqCbRBw8w.html
Love this channel, and especially these mod showcases. Great to see Fallout 3 still getting some attention all these years later. I've recently been watching your In the Shadow of the Swamp series, a mod I've played through but nice seeing again :)
Yeah. Most folks have moved to FNV/TTW, so fewer mods - especially the more complex ones - are created for Fo3. Puce Moose quest mods were nice experiences and added new features, weapons, and items to the game. They had unique stories and characters, which aren't common in Fo3 mods today.
@@dcghoul101 Absolutely. You look at for example the FO3/FalloutMods subreddits and you will constantly see people deferring to TTW almost as a defailt. Uncommon opinion here, but New Vegas is nowhere near as good as Fallout 3.
Yeah, I prefer Fo3 as an independent entity from New Vegas (nothing wrong with TTW, though). My mod showcase is a small effort to bring attention to Fallout 3 modding. Maybe someone feels inspired and starts modding the game. I even managed to create two mods for it. I find the Capital Wasteland a more interesting environment than the Mojave. Exploring the city ruins was one of my favorite activities. There's an interesting video here on RU-vid - The Development and Cut Content of the DC Ruins - about the cut content of Fallout 3. The number of urban areas cut from the game is a tragedy (for me). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o93pnsgWWkI.html Some (or many) people dislike the metro tunnels, but I liked that aspect of the game. In a hypothetical "Fallout: New York", I hope the urban and underground exploration is an important aspect of the game. One day I was reading an article about all the underground tunnels of New York and I couldn't stop thinking about the potential for the player to explore the city's underground. The article is this one: web.archive.org/web/20240805202715/www.vanityfair.com/news/politics/2013/10/new-york-city-underground-subway-danger This post is getting big, so I'll finish it here.
It is always a welcome surprise to see people still creating great mods after all this time for Fallout 3. The climbing mechanic opens so many opportunities for the player in terms of how to maneuver the wasteland and tackle objectives. Thanks for pointing this one out as it went into my mod list immediately.
@@Zyute. If I remember correctly, Darnfied UI for Fallout 3 does that. gamebanana.com/mods/24856 *EDIT:* After the last Fo3 update and the required Anniversary Patcher use, you can't use the "DUI F3" settings option in the game's main menu (it does nothing). Do the following to *access the DUI F3 in the game's pause menu* (credits to DarkDominion): "Open start_menu.xml in Data/Menus/Options with Darn installed find the <_isPauseMenu> line Edit <eq> 9 </eq> to <eq> 8 </eq> two lines under it (line 51) DARN uses the number of items in the start menu list to detect the main menu. The patcher removes the LIVE button so DARN's check fails The code checks if the number of items in the menu equals 9 ( or 8 )"
@@dcghoul101 Damm I appreciate that but some mods I use say they aren't compatible. I use clean vanilla HUD and Vanilla UI Plus cause it allows me to use the weapon overheat and selective fire mods like you use in the video.
Hey there since you didn't already create a playlist for your mod showcase I felt so free to do so, hope I didn't left out some videos. You can find her named as "F3 Mods Showcase from DCGhoul101" since links are forbidden and all these YT shenanigans.
Thanks. I accidentally deleted my original Fallout 3 Mods playlist. I created a new one, feel free to keep yours. ru-vid.com/group/PLywUlYBrpVO6e8FEKFF22xQwHZmQKask0
Hello! Thank you for the video! Please make a modification to the game's primary needs so that the character has to eat, sleep, drink, like in New Vegas! It would be desirable to display the scale of needs, at least if it’s not possible to add it to the pipboy. There is an old mod for needs on the nexus, but it seems like it hasn’t been updated since 2011 and for some reason they added an inconvenient calorie system that just gets in the way.
I don't have much programming or scripting skills, so I can't create a mod like that. FWE (Fallout Wanderers Edition) overhauls the game and includes an eat, drink, and sleep system. Like many Fallout 3 mods, it hasn't been updated in years, but it worked well for me.
An "Animated FO3 Flora Overhaul" would be really amazing. I used the "Dead Edition" during my long playthrough. It's unlikely a mod like that would happen. It involves editing other people's mods and animating dozens of NIF files.
Episodes 201 and 202. 201 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JHWpJ-n0ADk.html 202 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0PXrmZZbkBw.html *[Spoiler Alert]* While inside Friendship Asylum, you'll go back in time and meet a character named Vonda. If you help her at that moment, she'll (somehow) survive and meet you again in the present time. I earned the *Capitol Research Master Key* when talking to her after defeating The Warden.
The difference between vanilla and upscaled is amazing. I was never a huge fan of the original map, so this is a welcome addition. I use a mod called jip fast travel shown previously here. Do you know if this mod will cause conflicts?
As I mentioned in the video (09:12) some conflicts *must be fixed manually by the user.* JIP FTA was made with the default texture resolution in mind (1024x1024).
Can't really vibe with the rounds cooking off, but having jamming being an actual factor outside of reloading the weapon is a treat. Just wish the minigun in Fallout 3 had a proper jam animation that wasn't a reused and shorter reload.
Yup. You can tweak the values for each weapon class. - 02:57 - Some weapons in their default settings. - 04:31 - I increased the heating rate and the cooldown time. The weapon heats up fast and takes longer to cool down.
Thank you for the offer, but I will have to decline because I do not have any skills in this area. Also, please note that English is not my native language, so I apologize if I misunderstood what you said.
oh wow this is crazy, seeing new vegas mods getting ported to 3 is allways a treat. not everyone wants to have tale of two wastelands loaded up to play this game its great to see modders still working on it
Many thanks, I was stuck looking for the shack key, you found it at around 57:00 :) Although you missed the majority of the timestamps in this video, the others were extremely useful because I was stumped at a couple of locations
I have mods installed that add locations and corresponding markers for themselves. Do you think there could be a problem if random encounters take place near a added marker?
Your channel deserves a lot more followers due to your hard work covering a vast array of fallout content. It would be a great place for people just starting out a playthrough and where to start with modding.😎
A very comprehensive comparison of the two, the video is on the mod page! This video I really think highlights that type 1 even with the clipping is far better inside.
Yup, and I already downloaded it. I still need to edit the video (real life gets in the way, LOL). EDIT: Since I have two videos scheduled, It'll be live (probably) on April 17th. :)
@@dcghoul101 I thought the video would have gotten more attention given the mod being on Hot mods, I think it gets about 1 month on hot mods due to a lack of competition in fallout 3 modding.
@@dcghoul101 Really appreciate it! currently planning to add my Fallout flag overhaul to Fallout 3. which might have a huge impact! but if you are moving to FNV, then you might see in their . 🤠🤠🤠🤠
Well this is great timing. I just downloaded this 5 minutes before the posting of the video😀. Thanks for the preview now I know what to expect. Had to look up who Adam Adamowicz was and it is sad to hear he passed. Nice to see his ideas being brought to life in the mod.
Modders should look into Adamowicz's concept art to take some ideas. Fallout 3 style comes from his work.
