Reason 12 has the most stupid navigation with macbook trackpad!! why on windows laptop it is better works then on macbook??? So when i want to scroll i have to use two fingers moving left and right - that is expected behaviour, and works both in mac and windows , but when i want to zoom vertical\horizontal, for windows I can expand the interface vertically with two fingers, and to zoom horizontally I just need to add the shift button, it works conveniently and neatly, but in a MacBook, when you press commands and move your fingers on the trackpad, it immediately increases and decreases in two directions, horizontal and vertical , this is just idiocy, no control!!! Everything is constantly shifting, it’s just a pain to work on a MacBook in Reason Studio, I regret that I bought it!!!
Hoooooow are they STILL not introducing grouping in the sequencer? All I wanna be able to do is lump similar tracks together in collapsable groups. Surely that can't be a huge ask?
Great example of how to get the best out of a powerful DAW software instead of spending time in forums and social media complaining about what features he's missing or wants. Reason has always been the most inspiring piece of software I've ever used and I'll be a user as long as its around. Well done Sir! I'll be on the lookout for more of your stuff!
GREAT JOB!!!!! I'm into RnB and HipHop. I really like Reason for putting down ideas quickly. My problem is in the mixing and the mixer. My basses always sound muddy. I can better sounds with MPC and FL Studio, but Reason seems very hard to mix with the low end stuff. Can you do a tutorial on that???? Thx and keep up the good work,.
the lost me as a lifelong customer between 10-12, then won me back with this video.. but then lost me again after just making it look like ableton 12, dare i say, faster. .
Panning the drumset to the left, was it deliberate as well? I suppose I have heard a few old school records with drums fully panned to the left or right. Great video man.
Audiomatic is my favorite effect of all time. If there was a hardware version I would DEFINITELY buy it (although it would cost 10 Gs and I'd be broke forever after)
ok so i am beyond hyped to know the reason has been thriving this whole time. i used the reason 3.0 way back in the day and loved it. fell in love so fast. though i ended up losing my pc somewhere between moving (it wasnt that good anyways lol) and had lost the reason copy as well. Fast forward to yesterday going threw my old things at my moms i found it... the reason 3.0. my eyes lit the heck up and the first thing i did was hop online to see if it would still be compatible with my pc only to find out yall are on THIRTEEN! im so beyond hyped. i actually stopped playing around with music production because all the other stuff i tried was lacking and somehow i had forgot about your existence. today is a great day for me and i am so excited to give it a shot in june! Thanks for reawakening my music creativity!!
I love Reason, and these sorts of videos just make me love it more. Actually, seeing this, it inspired me to not go so much to VSTs as a first choice, and to try out more Reason Rack devices, such as the M Class ones.
I use reason since version 4, it was a breeze of fresh air back then and it was always focus on music ready , you choose your loop or instruments or a direct mic recording and you get your song made, without over complexify the process of setup your VST or midi stuff , things other pro soft lack at the time and i start my home studio setup with cubase on Atari St and a bunch of gear when i swap to PC in mid 1999, the VST was cool but the latency was pain in the ass even with asio hardware, Reason make the need of Asio almost an option and a thing of the past even on PC, you plug your USB Midi keyboard and your already to go with a bunch of loop, drum machine sampler and virtual instruments.
I hope the sequencer was refresh a bit, so we could handle the swap of time signature more easyli a match mode for recording note by note on 1/8 ,1/4 or 1/16 could help for some arpegiated stuff . I know that the (player) module do the stuff but for me it should be a basic feature of the recording time Line.
Excellent tutorial thanks! 😀❤ I've always found it a bit tedious trying to manipulate breaks and create variants within Reason but this seems like an a much easier and fun way. As for where that 1995 sound comes from, this is the earliest tune I've heard it in : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-23Ti-T3T8h0.html
The new editor pane looks SICK, and the Sidechain Tool looks like it'll be so much better than my usual setup with an MClass Compressor and a ghost kick! I cannot wait to get my hands on this update when it drops!
i understand this is a demo of what can be done, simple quick ect, but my god that chord progression sounds like ass and makes very little sense sonically
reason has to ALSO show you how to have TALENT when using reason.. SMH... reason (up to 11) is the best VST hands done... and now its not... there IS no good daw anymore.. its now a free for all. get vst's wherever you can... the greed monsters have screwed us all
