This is the "official" WHAMGAMES RU-vid channel, with content mostly related to various videogames, occasional memes and a pair of cute cats who keep me company. Welcome aboard!
Yup. I've had a lot of first lap contact with the AI leading to a broken underbody and ruined race, so I did my best to avoid collisions with the AI. Then I went wide. And then I span on the gravel and died and got to spectate my friend drive for an hour and a half! :C
1:00:24 Your reaction to Boss Finn here legit made me wheeze loud enough to wake my dog! XD I can't blame you for that reaction though I had a similar one when I first laid on the big shark-mans! XD To think we're gonna get to romance and date him when the Masterwork edition comes out on October 22nd! :D
Nice ! i enjoyed @lethalfeline 's playthrough - it wasn't easy but way less repetitive than the Moss thing - it's amazing how much a good dev can squeeze into 33 MB
I really don't think it was the intended method, but rather a bug with the physics that I triggered just because I failed to do the right move here. Still, it worked, in the end! :D
Holy Moly , what a joyride this has been ! Thanx for the ultra entertaining playthrough , and for stayin up so effin late to finish the run - hope your "boss" didn't mind ( and if they did , i'm pretty sure you gave them a bossfight they'll never forget :o) bye for now 👊
Quite a few modern games seem to have weird ideas of what secrets are. The fairly recent Boltgun shooter also labelled a bunch of stuff as "secret found", despite the secrets being things like a box of ammo sitting in the middle of a wide open street if you take a very slight turn off the main path.
2:00:30 - 2:16:05 Jatkamme hetkissen kuluttua ( ☎ & ️😺 ) nice intermission edit ! there only a few classics per decade ; Moss isn't one of them , this one _is_
No big fan of zombiegames , i had no intention to watch this one - oh boy was i wrong : this one is brilliantly made Such a shame i missed the Bake Sale 😿
I had fun with the game! I have plans to do more AGS games in the future, but Baldur's Gate 3 streams have consumed a lot of my time. Expect BG3 videos in the future! :D
@@whamtheman sorry , if there's two franchises i strongly dislike , they are Halflife and BG - but go and enjoy your travels there , i'll be returning to Morrowind in a few weeks and one of the other channels will Return to Na Pali come Autumn
I'm at 18:47.... and it looks like you're going to spend 40 minutes looking for the pixel-hunt blueberries in the bush right next to you when you're in the barrens 😭 I'm sorry in advance :p I've got to finish watching later... so I'll apologize more then!
THERE WERE BLUEBERRIES!? NNNOOOOOOO! Yeah, they really needed a bigger hotspot around them to make them easier to find since it's so easy to overlook them against such busy and detailed backgrounds that also come with dithering effects, and also having them be so close to our character may not have been optimal either.
@@whamtheman Yeah they were pretty 'evil' in retrospect.. I think I imported the graphic for them and it was just a bunch of dots.. and AGS only highlights when you're over the individual dots... I feel terrible now that I'm actually seeing someone stuck from a puzzle... I think it would have been better if I'd put them on every bush on that screen :/ I do think I managed to slip in a 'click multiple times to do something' puzzle successfully with the fish -- that was my attempt to atone for last months brochure rack! :D Also, seeing you get misdirected by the beaver talking about cedar logs... hurts... I thought that read as a joke, but I'm realizing just how careful we need to be with that text... I am happy the Roman/Latin bear seemed to work for you anyway hahaha! Overall we kind of tried to do too many 'new things' this month... It was an experiment in too many ways, thanks again for playing! :D
@@AAULTEN I eventually figured the beaver was meant as a joke, but considering how nonsensical the other items requested in the game were, I couldn't be sure if he actually wanted me to tear off a piece of wood from the guard tower to eat! :D There was a good bit of surreal humour to be found here, but a few tweaks here and there would have done wonders. A fish counter and more little dialogue lines for the various characters responding to the fish would be a fun idea!
@@whamtheman yes , i kinda noticed something in that direction , and it might very well be that the worst is yet to come no one in their right mind would mind if at some point you would decide to abandon this badly balanced and utterly unfair torment , not because you're "bad at video games" because you & we all know that you're _not_ , but simply because the thing is evil & made by sadists dixi 😺
@@Florence_Nitrogale Too late! I usually only post videos of a game on RU-vid after I've finished the game on stream, so if you're watching this now, it means the rest of the episodes are already on their way!
I'm afraid the AGS bake sale games are no longer for sale anywhere, but you can download RAM Ghost from the AGS website: www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1532-ram-ghost/
Ahh, yeah, the days of using various screen recorder and audio recorder softwares side by side, trying to sync everything up in Movie Maker or something. I graduated to slightly better software in later years, but my early stuff is a mess :D
@@whamtheman no way mess , it only happened once in the entire Cthulhu , so that's mighty decent , and the 1080p in those days is quite awesome : i hardly ever go beyond 480 due to system & bandwidth limitations AD 2024 😅
@@whamtheman yeah , i remember the reviews , they were remarkably unanymous - which is one of the reasons i was so glad to find this LP on your fine channel hava nice weekend 🍀
@@Florence_Nitrogale I'd just read a bunch of H.P. lovecraft as a youngster and read the reviews in finnish gaming magazines for this game. They all said it was GREAT! Then as a young adult I finally could afford the game to play it and I kind of both loved and hated it. :D
Very impressive , both the game and you having two of the devs to accompany on this playthrough i only knew AGS from the @yahtzee19 games so far , but of course there had to be more your channel is a treasure trove & i'm bleepin glad i found it 🙏
@@whamtheman i definitely enjoyed the ride , check the likes ( i sometimes forgot tho ) with four hungry channels to feed and support and a rather outdoorish lifestyle , i'm rarely in viewing mode , but this PT grabbed me by the thingies and i was totally grappling hooked before i knew it
so good to be back , and what an awesome episode once more ! i see you already finished the playthrough , which is impressive but also a bit sad 😿 , i'll stick to the natural viewing order though
14:00 that kick in the chest would've been a nice little happy end , but no : the devs had to spoil the fun with that nasty twist , hng ... Maw is right on the unlimited power & corporations clause though , i.m.o
I didn't disable the button, I just learned to play without panicking all the time so I didn't accidentally hit it anymore :D And yes, my streams often have good kitties observing me fail at videogames.
AGS is a really good engine for this type of game and makes a lot of work easier. Also, since I can't resist tooting my own horn a bit, you can find one of my AGS made games for free on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1060560/GNRBLEX/ There's also plenty more great games on the AGS website.
@@whamtheman for a ( this ) YT viewer who looks forward to the Competition Day , "them" starting mid competition about totally unrelated games and totally breaking the atmosphere , nah it's not Kewl in _my_ book but it's _your_ channel , i'm merely a visitor
You were right with the pronunciation of my last name the first time (Good job!), No rights to the audio so probably shouldn't have sent it out with the source code, but... meh it's all taken from RU-vid anyway so bigger fish to fry than I. You're welcome for the Readme! Just something I do to explain the concept a little when I can. Everything in the game was drawn in color in Aseprite then I just told it to go to Greyscale. The dithering is literally just the 8x8 dithering available kn Aseprite. Makes things look great. I did rush the game a bit so there's a LOT of places where it looks like you can do something, but can't. Oops! Thank you for the compliments! Also; I was introduced to the Twilight Zone when I was a kid, but that was the 80's and their themes are so "generic" that they do quiet well. Though I enjoy the early seasons much more than the later. Thanks for playing through it!
@@SavvygeMediaGroup The game was created in the Adventure Game Studio engine. MAGS is a monthly game development contest on the AGS forums where people have a month to create a game in AGS based on a given theme.
those cards were brutal ! maybe taking a nap before trading and/or reducing the amount of items for sale might have made some difference , but in the end you came through kind of victorious anyway , so congratz are definitely in order 👍
Good points on the brochure rack! I didn't like doing that without kind of 'intro-ing' the mechanic of clicking multiple times somewhere else... but there wasn't a place to do that.. A close up would have been cool! The music, I'll keep that in mind since I didn't notice the cuts seeming hard.. but that background track there is kind of weak or aimless... :p Thanks so much for taking the time to play and feedback... very cool experience to see it played! :D
Happy to hear the feedback is appreciated! I know from experience how nice it is to see someone else play a game I've made, and how helpful it can be in figuring out points of improvement for future projects. This game had an impressive amount of effort for a MAGS projects and I hope to see more from you in the future!
jfrisby here, thanks for playing! -- Oh man, it is fun to watch this! :D Sorry for the torture... I'm only 20 minutes in, but -- The walkable area from the giftshop to the stewpot... I was trying to make that a one-way path for "Crowd flow reasons" like at a real tourist place... but it ended up just coming across as annoying, and I changed it to that long walk around thing... but it still doesn't make sense really :P
Little arrow signs saying "one-way" and maybe a quip from our protagonist could have turned this one from a recurring annoyance into a fun thematic joke on the player. Now that you explain it, though, it does make more sense.
