"You merely adopted the dark; i was born in it, molded by it. i didnt see the light until i was already a man by then it was nothing to me but blinding!" *oh wait wrong Goat*
To be fair to the w*man, anakin is a distinctly traumatized and toxic character. It’s like how if someone relates too heavily to Walter White or Tony Soprano it’s a bad sign. Essay on why: Anakin’s role among the other characters (in the movies) is an attack dog. The Jedi order doesn’t like him, and keeps him around because he’s winning the war for them. This doesn’t change once he becomes Vader. His main flaw is his attachment. Specifically in how tight he holds on to people. He was taken from his mother as a child. Then when he was given any speck of freedom without his master, he went to find her. Only to find her in her dying moments. He refuses to lose anyone because of his inaction again. This is a purely selfish motivation. He doesn’t fully care for others as people. He’s one foot in and out of the Jedi teaching. He cares about losing people because it hurts him. Not because any concern he has for them or their safety. Only how it relates to his wants. It’s why he chokes Padme when he thinks she betrayed him. Even though keeping her alive was his whole reason to betray the order. He just didn’t wanna be hurt. And in a way always subconsciously viewed her as a surrogate for his lost connection with his mother. The long and short of it is that he’s a violent man with issues connecting to others meaningfully. Along with a plethora of mommy issues and bottled rage. So any guy who sees himself in Anakin has a good few issues. Thus, it’s a red flag.
