If Hinduism and Zoroastrianism were originally connected, were there any forms of Hinduism that developed in a similar direction (i.e. worshipping ahuras instead of devas)?
I must comment on" the history of Zoroastrianism" as discussed by this scholarly, young individual. Quite knowledgeable. Good luck to you, and keep it up. Hormuzd.
The only reason islam spread in the middle east was through intimidation, death threats, imposing high taxes for not converting and humiliation imposed on the non-believers
If I may. A conscious belief to the individual may become a comfort to that individual, but when that belief becomes a conscious collective the comfort evolves into dogmatic and systematic order, ergo exponential innocent ignorance dominates and false foundations become the norm, I.e Catholicism, Judaism, Islamism etc, all became scholastic, political, military, corporate and law. The mix is a perpetual jigsaw of foundation-less ignorance unable and unwilling to accept failure at all costs. Tom O'Rourke 1953....? Love always
Reminds me of Manicheanism. Except Manicheanism believes the god of darkness has more control in regards to this world (the god of darkness and his servants controls fate and the zodiac), and that nature has had death and destruction from the beginning (which is confirmed by evolutionary history), whereas Zoroastrianism believes nature was corrupted with death and destruction.
