how heavy are the sleeves of the geotextile? 100 g/m2 or 250 g/m2 and to which depth does this method work?

Where do you apply your stone columns? Do you think the constructability is practicable for road construction / possible Constructability in swampy, highly silt-clay characteristics with high natural moisture content? Please get in touch with us: FreiherrHelli@gmail.com . Thank you very much for your answer.

@SteveMillerhuntingforfood
@SteveMillerhuntingforfood 3 года назад
Hum? Not sure what a floating column is, but since you are just pretending I guess it doesn't matter. All snarkiness aside, explain what your intent is, ie. a floating column.
@hansdete

@@SteveMillerhuntingforfood by floating columns i mean those that does not reach the bearing stratum (e.g a rock).

@@SteveMillerhuntingforfood in cases of a very thick soft soil layer, say 40meters, using a GEC that goes over 40m may become less cost-effective, so, u might want to think on floating columns.

what do you understand under "floating" columns? Do you mean the columns are not "embedded" within the "stable" soil stratum?
@SteveMillerhuntingforfood

@@hansdete I'd call that a column supported by skin friction versus an end bearing pile.

Dear Mr. Miller, Thank you for your quick response.Your pond is beautiful, I really like the shape of it and the way you left some of the trees at certain points overlooking the pond. It’s going to look very nice when it's all done. I’m thinking of putting a 40 acre pond on my place…looking at about $800,000 to build the pond. I do have one question for you. I don’t personally know about ponds at all and what it takes to maintain them. But I noticed by your video that you just dug a hole and put water in it…is this safe to construct a pond in this manner? I was thinking of using shotcrete for the entire pond, because I was told that it adds more value to your property because they view it as a built-in swimming pool with the usage of the shotcrete. This means that the construction cost will shoot up to $1.2- $1.5 in that ballpark. Is there a cheaper way to construct a pond of this size? Thanks for your input on this matter. GW

One of our members owns a landscape construction company, he donates lots of labor and materials to that pond....So the results are visually appealing.

We spent almost $200k building this pond. It also costs about $9k per year to maintain. Water is the most significant cost, it evaporates at the rate of 90 inches per year here.

6 feet and 8 feet

@65FullMoon83 7 лет назад
Hmm? Why not deeper? I think if I ever build one, I would want it to be a minimum of 20 ft deep at the deepest end with bubbler to keep it from statification. 6 to 8 ft sounds like a pretty good average depth though.
