Det kallas stighudar. De har en klisteryta som fäster mot skidan och mohair på andra sidan. Stighuden gör att man kan glida framåt, men den fäster mot snön om man försöker glida bakåt. Utöver det har jag topptursbindningar och toppturspjäxor, så man kan lossa hälen från bindningen när man går uppförs och fästa den när man åker nedför.
This hike doesn't have a super clear path to follow, at least not when you gain some elevation. I want to remember that it was a bit hard to find a good parking spot so we stopped here: goo.gl/maps/85qeNzEbYJjXzMg49 and then biked down the road a bit to a small road that took us to Tverrelva. But you should be able to navigate to Tverrelva pretty easy directly from the parking spot over Brentberget/Brentbergan. Hope this helps.
Yes, there are some trails up to Rundfjellnasen from Storvollen. The way up to Rundfjellnasen should be good for cycling, I actually thought about that when we hiked down haha... Storgalten can be approached from Lassofjellet or Galtdalen, then either up to or around Litle-galter and up to Storgalten. Some gas stations have paper maps that you can buy which show more trails than Norgeskart does.
