Good vid. That joystick assembly is cheap junk. Poor design. I just replaced mine; it wasn't deburred, and it catches/locks up-when moving it horizontally.(Pan.)
ALthough this tutorial is quite old it has helped me sooooo much to understand more of the abilities of these desks. This desk has the same facilities as many other desks, although a few of them differ in relation to the fader ALL vs ONLY X/Y PAN settings but most of the tutorial can be used to cover the operation of many many small desks on the market. I like this desk due to the pan/tilt joystick to keep on the artist who dont stay in positions they agreed lol. Brilliant tutorial for new users trying to get the basics under their belt before spending loads cash on bigger more versatile desks or software that they drown in.
how can you control & program LED Pars with more than ONE channel each??? All the pre-recorded chases turn one channel on, then the next (in different directions) and so on. But if each par occupies, say, 5 channels (R, G, B, Dimmer, Shutter), then I would need the chase to affect ch 4 (dimmer on Par #1), then 9 (dimmer Par #2), then 13 and so forth... Is this desk useless for DMX fictures with more than 1 channel each? And, is there any difference between the Elation Scene Setter 24, and the ADJ Scene Setter 24?? (That's what it's labeled as today but it looks like it's exactly the same desk... (or not?).
jees... you need a PhD to use this desk with all the secret code things... Is there any way to disable the bl**dy need for a password for EVERY SINGLE thing you need to do?
if i change the dmx address for one or many channels and i program a chase with this setting, the console will save the dmx address or the channel for the chase?
The power supply connection is mechanically too weak/unreliable to be considered "pro". Maybe this is stronger than the normaly used ones. From the video and photos on the web it may be chassis mounted instead of board mounted, which would be better but in my experience these jacks also tend to loosen up and become unreliable at the internal spring contacts. It's a turn off for me and would keep me from buying what otherwise seems to be a good board for the money.
I was wondering if anyone knew an easier way to transition from a chase back to a scene with the least amount of button clicks, preferably one click so it can happen on beat
My joystick tilt controls the color wheel on my DJ spot LEDs, they are eight channel not 16 is there a way to change the joystick to 8 channel so it will operate the tilt?
