Sorry, I just don't get it. She's an absolute amateur compared with the gymnasts of today. Look what they do on the beam now. That routine could be performed by an 8 year old now. Totally totally overrated.

the GOAT. imo one of the very few non-Soviet gymnast that could compare to the Soviets. so dainty and graceful. her style and choreography reminds me less of the jumpy and playful choreography of the Romanians and more of the balletic and sensual choreography of the Soviets.

Let me repeat again: She could compete not only in Seul, but also in Barcelona, so in 1992 Daniela was 19 / 20 years old, and then she could retired after Barcelona games. If i'm not wrong, Daniele retired when she was 18
This was very underwhelming. The score is not adequate nor reflective of the lack of elements requiring more risk with regarding to jumps. There is a little artistry but it's not perfect and lacks excitement in my opinion. I think the judges automatically favored her due to her public popularity which drew in and brought a lot of money to the sport. That was it's demise though, and the beginning of the end. I don't watch any gymnastics beyond that golden 70's era or early 80's, it became exploited & commercialized and lacks the authentic charm & natural captivation of the past. The natural strength & talent is gone. It's mostly bulked up unnatural looking gymnasts now & all technical, big business. No thanks!!!
Are you aware this was a compulsory routine, the same elements for all gymnasts? Judges gave scores for execution, not difficulties. Nadia's execution here was perfect
2 diametrically opposed styles, Simone is pure power, speed, perfection and no emotion nor feminism at all on the other hand Nadia is pure grace, artistry and poetry in motion!.Simone pose, walk and running is very masculine like and mechanical while Nadia's walk is feminine, sensual and delicate like a rose!.I might not know much about gymnastics but I know artistry and grace when I see it, that's what I see when I watch Nadia perform!!!!
