Hi and welcome to my new channel. It is meant as a bit of fun and features videos of general interest to me and my family but you are invited to join us. I run "Too old to die young" you tube channel too which is more specialised in classic motorcycle restoration. ru-vid.com/show-UCdA9cmik8sy0-JM2KDh_e-g
Brass musical instruments, boating, electric guitars and travel videos.
I used them to build a garden room, and a shed, the garden room is my office, and its been 2 years now and its not had on issue, touch wood. Recently used them for a shed too. As long as the surface is solid below they are really good.
So the bit u don't understand is the 'handle' doesnt adjust anything on mine... it just spins freely... i can adjust them by the spinner the top section (where my joists will sit). What am i doing wrong then??? 😂😂
Yep I have had a few and most of my watches are Seiko movementswhich means they are relatively easy to swap out the movementsshould they ever fail if I am emotionally attached to them🤣
People always say nasty things about invicta watches but ive a grand diver and the other diver 53 and i absolutely love them , ive more expensive watches but feel safe going anywhere with the invictas , theyre so comfortable both mine has the seiko auto movement so it's bullet proof in that respect,so haters give them a chance lol ..t.y. for sharing your awesome collection
Rotary still make the (swiss made) watches with swiss automatic movements and are finished a bit better than your normal rotary ,but will cost three times the amount.
daily rate doesn't really matter because it can be regulated. what matters is whether the daily rate is consistent. a hypothetical watch that gave exactly +24s every day is more accurate than a hypothetical watch that gives +0s one day, -2s the next day, +2s the third day. so it would be good to test the daily rate of each of these watches every day for a week. one 24 hour test is only telling you how well regulated the watches are, not how accurate they are.
I would love to know how you came to that opinion and by what criteria. I love the Zep but the movement is nasty and it makes my cringe when I turn the hands.
@@jackofall1276 The criterion is simple, most look like a bad copy of Seiko or Rolex, Zeppelin is also not the best watch, but at least it has its own style. I'm not talking about the mechanism now. The criterion was definitely not price, but appearance and originality or characteristic appearance. A watch should have its own atmosphere. Plastic Casio are better than a copy or homage Rolex.
Well we will have to disagree on that one. You could claim the Submariner was a copy of the Blancpain fifty fathom. Of all the brands, I would not buy a Rolex, simply because of the brand image as a status symbol. No denying it is a fabulous watch but so many wanabees wear Rolex. Look at me I cant afford my mortgage but I have a Submariner or possibly a clone. At least something like the Chris ward does have an originality of sorts. Keep up the love of watches my friend. 👍😊
@@jackofall1276 I understood you. I didn't expect you to say otherwise. I don’t like Ward, they turn into a mass product. Also Blankpain , an overrated watch for its price in my opinion.
Good work. I wish that there were more people doing analytical tests against their watches. Consumer advocacy is important to ensure watchmakers are actually doing what they’re saying they’re doing, not just a selling baloney sandwiches.
This is very good to see. One thing that I've discovered is that mechanical and automatic watches can have their speed adjusted. I'm curious what the results would be if you took in the Alibaba watch and had it's speed regulated to be as exact as possible. Would it remain very exact for a very long time? Would it quickly lose its accuracy?
Interesting test, thank you. I was wondering why you performed the "test" for each watch on a different day. Ha! then I realized you were wearing each watch for 24 hr.s. Excellent 🙂 A real test for sure. Having a wrist watch just sitting on a bureau, or wherever, does not simulate how watches run while on the wrist. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Very through. 🙂 I'm guessing the Omega is a keeper ;-)
Thaniks for takinh the time to comment. And yes all watches are keepers except and fake ones which will be binned when the eventually fail, although they will probably last a whiule as I no longer wear them!🤣
Oy mate! I never knew there is an Amiga watch, but you keep talking about that Amiga! I thought they went under with their computers in the 90s, and they never made a watch! You must have fallen for a Chinese fake, and you paid 2000 quid for it
It is heavier than say my Olds recording or Yamaha 6310Z but only by a few grammes. The playability is great, not sure what easy means when it comes to playability. It is different to the Yamaha feels easier on the lower register and slots better (Lip slurs are far easier). However some of this is to do with the mouthpiece gapping in the reciever and this is where the Harrelson comes into its own. Getting that right for your own playing has a big effect in my opinion. I would not hesitate to recommend one of his horns. Members of both bands i am in have commented how good the tone is, epecially with the upper register.
I cannot fathom the desire to own a watch costing thousands of pounds when all it does is tell the time and most people do not look at what watch you are wearing anyway. I bought a new MWC Swiss watch that was brand new on eBay for £10 five years ago and it keeps perfect time to the second for weeks at a time. I would rather spend my money on something for the family and even when I win the lottery I would not waste my money on an expensive watch as my watches do the job just as well.
I worked it out myself … BUT … I’m a time served engineer and used to designing and building stuff … other less experienced people may struggle as THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS 😂
Hi my answer is only my opinion and not a technical answer but as long as the joist is upagainst the upright and the weight is within the specs you should be fine.
You should look into cadisen benyar tandorio and paulareis which have really nice automatic homage watches for anywhere from 40 to 120 with decent quality for the money and all but tandorio make a Daytona homage
Really interesting seeing how different these automatic watches are. I have a question though, i have an 4r36 movement seiko 5 and its about 30 seconds late per day. Is it normal or should i regulate it?
The S5 is rated at minus 20 to plus 40 seconds per day. The instructions advise you to fully wind the watch every day even though it is an automatic. For me even if a watch is a couple of minutes a day it is fine.
Man I love watches that you can change the watch strap to all kind of cool colors watch collection are more fun that way I have way to many watch straps it makes you fall in love with the watch over as again once you get a cool bracelet for it NATO straps are my fav straps
I think Homages, Copies, Clones and Replicas are all just copies - and only a copyright issue at worst so long as they do not put the original name on the dial. Fakes and Counterfeits are the odd ones out when they illegaly put a false name on the dial and pretend to be genuine, dearer watches.
I have a question … what if I will build my own watch with Seiko movement.. and I will use moded dial? Because I have build watches which looks like Rolex oyster perpetual (with flat bezel) and they looks nice I use NH35 movement it’s cheap but reliable… and dial is Seiko (not actually… it’s copy of that Rolex one but instead Rolex oyster perpetual it’s Seiko oyster perpetual datejust) it’s fair to call them Seiko? Or not… I have paid for parts only 160€ and build costs me 2 hours my first build but actually they worked fine i don’t know how much waterproof they are but I have tested them my “certified way” I put them into hot water and then into cold water … if there will be some steam or how it is called … they are not waterproof to anything and they are actually worthless to wear in public buuut they survive that …
Rolex aren't either worth the money or are a quality product, They are made by machines not hand,. They are a successful marketing machine that's it. Plus why would you want to follow the crowd into sillyness You can get a Grand Seiko that they are made by hand by true watchmakers who aren't even allowed to polish them without being at the company for five years. So my friend which would you prefer a handmade timepiece that is PERFECT , or a mass produced overpriced tool watch made by machines???? Also most people would think that it's a fake???? These days it doesn't matter if you have the money you have to pass Rolex theirs snob tests, the same with Langer and sonne Also mate you don't have to pretend that you got those from a MATE come on .
Acutely, I did get them from a mate as he was in Thailand. The fake rolex I got on a beach in Spain near Porto Fino and My Tag fake from a lucky lucky man in Italy.
I'm a big fan of homage watches, but I do have some bigger brand (Casio, Rotary, Seiko) originals in my (very budget) collection. I'm always honest with exactly what the watches are if I end up in conversations about them. +1 for the Wristwatch Revival channel, you're not sad. Well, if you are then I am too!
Though I particularly don't like fake watches I have no problem with anyone who does. Most of these fakes are copies of watches made by brands owned by the richest people in the world. If someone is depriving some greedy bastard worth $100 BILLION who TF cares? And I don't think ISIS fighters or terrorists are sitting in caves making fake Rolexes as some would have you believe. I'd bet they're owned by some guy in China trying to feed his family. Like the rest of us. Pretentious people irritate me.
Excellent video. No problem with homages, they're not pretending to be what they're not. Tip, on the slightly sharp case edges on the Pagani, I had the same on the other side of the case on my Mission to Uranus Moonwatch, just stick a bit of masking tape on the top side and get yourself a bit of 600 grade emery paper and gently rub the edge until it smooths down. Ironically there were complaints about the newest Omega Seamaster having sharp edges. Oisin O'Malley made a video about it. As for fakes and counterfeits, if you wear a fake, you are a fake and contributing to the worst criminal gangs who organize the manufacture and distribution.
