PCORI funds research that provides patients, caregivers, and clinicians with the evidence-based information needed to make better-informed healthcare decisions. To do this, we work with healthcare stakeholders to identify critical research questions and answer them through comparative clinical effectiveness research, focusing on outcomes important to patients. We also disseminate the results in ways that the healthcare community finds useful. To learn more, visit www.pcori.org.

A great lay-explanation of how being a part of a research team (engagement) differs from participant involvement and recruitment! Happy to have this video as a resource. Thank you, Dr. Wilkins and PCORI!
I am at PCORI 2015 specifically to meet with researchers interested in doing CER on implanted medical devices. The patient outcomes graphics of Nora Illuri (defunct Device Matters.com) paired with a digital personal health record like @lifehealthdiary from The Diary Corporation would help patients choose a device and track their outcomes and compare to their co-hort patients. The government needs to step up and assign specific billing codes for devices for both insertion/implantation and 'revision' . Let us discuss!
