I dedicated my camera to aviation, racing and bringing nature to the homes of those who cannot be in the forests.
Hopefully this channel and my shots can help raise environmental awareness and allow you all to see the wild side 😊

Great content thanks. I presume your crop mode is just using DX in the camera as it's 19.4mp, so did you have to more the camera back a little in DX mode? And the 1.5 crop is a greater factor than the TC's 1.4x so if anything using Full Frame (FX) and then cropping to the same size as the TC would be a 1.4 crop and give you more MP than 19.4. So you might get slightly better quality from the crop still! 😀 I'm not sure why I use the TC now, I guess you have more MP to use in post but then you have to use AI to sharpen and denoise or if you crop maybe use AI to enlarge to the same MP which might be better.
Yes, crop mode is 19mp. The camera was not moved back. The Megapixel difference between 1.4x and 1.5x is splitty some hairs. its not going to give you more than a couple hundred pixels in either direction. Having to run the images through more processing to rebuild a file from using a TC is just extra time taken. Its gotten to the point now I just never use the TC. Not worth all the extra editing efforts and the random atmospheric conditions that can play havoc with it. So my 1.4x Z TC is on ebay right now. No one wants to buy it though LOL
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective Is there any possibility for you to try it? I want to buy it but it will take shipping time and even more so if it doesn't fit later, thankyou.
That is on the Z9 which I cannot handle the weight. Can you say what the comparison would be using the Z7. I usually shoot my Sigma on tripod from my balcony as lots of wildlife. Would switching to 180-600 be worth it with Z7? Thanks
@@MrShari123 I would absolutely switch. For all the quality of life improvements. You just wouldn't have the extra stabilization added by nikon syncro VR. Id consider looking for a referb Z8 though in your situation. The Z7 is pretty painful to use for auto focusing.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective thank you. The Z8 is too heavy for me to carry around and I can’t afford not to sell z7 if I went that route. I will look at refurbished tho. So maybe not worth going for 180-600 with z7.
@@MrShari123 the Z8 is only about 8 ounces heavier. Or you could consider the Z6iii. I actually forgot about that camera. It's about the same size as your Z7, but far superior. I've seen used ones go for about 2200$.
One of the big differences i have seen is the latching system. The pelican case has an easier to operate latch system than the apache but for the price, the apache is awesome!
If you want to test for waterproofness, pull everything out of the case and put a roll of toilet paper in that box. That T/P will get wet in an instant if the box leaks. Good little test. I really like the Apache cases, especially when they are os sale.
that's from cycling through all the options. None really made it "better or worse". Occasionally I forget to add notes to mention later. In the grand scheme, it doesnt really matter As you'll never realistically be focusing near to far.
Nope. Never take moon photos. I'm sure you'd have a sharper image without it though. Shooting through 60 miles of atmosphere and the TC magnifying the distortions.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective I got the Sony 200-600 and the video stabilization just sucks. Together with the RAW options on Nikon, I think it makes sense to switch, thanks for your video!
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective I’m upgrading soon from the 80-200 2.8d and really torn between this and the Tamron G2. Leaning Nikon though. Thanks for the review-very helpful!
Is that a sun conure I can hear in the background haha? Also, loving the 2x tc on my 70-200. I know there is degradation, but really not enough to matter to me - I don’t notice it.
Sometimes you buy a $649.90 tripod with a 0.10 bag knowing most photographers spending that much already have some sort of bag solution and sometimes you buy a $60 tripod with a $15 bag for $75.
I also have this camera d3400 and I usually use to take my cat pics as a wild cat 😂😂😂 and it gives me best quality and good autofocus sometimes really don't believe I have taken this shot 😂😂😂😂 but sometimes its shutter do slow after a brust😢
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective hi sir just need your small help. I am beginner, i decide to get the Sigma 150-600mm lens. Do I need adapter for the lens? If yes then what kind of adapter do I need? Your help would be really appreciated.
Great footage! My husband was the Media Director for PVGP until 2016. (He died in February of 2017.) PVGP was one of his passions. I wasn’t really involved, it was his thing, but it makes me happy to see it still going strong.
I'm sorry for your loss, but you can be thankful the media director position is in good hands with Bernie. And the turnout was amazing! I would guess 5-10,000 attendees easily. I can't wait to go back again.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective that’s great to hear! I know Steve would be happy! It’s amazing that they only have one paid position in PVGP, everyone else is a volunteer!
Its amazing how many of these "well known" large companies' customer and support sucks. I am in the tech industry as well and getting support or warranty from most of them are horrible. I have really started liking leofoto. The equipment is excellent, and I have had to get answers a few times and they respond almost immediately. Something needs to be done with screwing the consumer or making it very difficult for the consumer to get warranty repairs and help.
This lens is awesome for car photography 📸 you can get portraits and macro close ups that are clean and sharp. Combo it with the 50mm Z f/1.8 for the interior/ engine shots, and it's a 2 lens powerhouse. It's all i mostly ever use. The only other lens i bring sometimes is the Nikon 135mm f/2 DC... (if we have a ton of room to shoot) which i have to focus manually on, but it's really no big deal at all. Now that lens.... sheesh, that's where those magazine cover money shots come from. Forget the $2,500 plena, this lens is the $500 king. If I'm shooting on my DSLR that day, that lens is coming for sure. I still use DSLRs. Arguably more than mirrorless. So it's good to have plenty of options.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective that DC lens and the Nikon 28mm f/1.4 D are the sole reason I kept my D850 . Until someone makes a F to Z adaptor with an autofocus screw motor, I'll still be on DSLR specifically for those 2 lenses. An honorable metion for the Nikon 85mm f/1.4 AF-D. To get current Z glass that's that darn good I'm gonna have to spend at least 5 or 6k minimum and Nikon doesn't even have a Z 28 f/1.4 🤘
It definitely has good attributes (especially sharpness and weight), however even tho I use it a lot, it is not a love affair. For flower close ups I find it hard to use and it produces weird bokeh at a certain distance. Might well be user error, but I found other macro lenses way easier to use and render more pleasantly. For me even the 70-200S produces more pleasant pictures for close ups (of course I can't get as close, but still). Anyways, I try to improve with this lens and will continue to use it a lot so maybe one day I will be satisfied. Thanks for the video!
Hii sir, thank you for the video. Im curious about the support for burst shooting. Does it support 14 fps burst on the Z6ii? Really need to know. Will appreciate your answer
I've never owned a Z6ii camera. The Z6ii supports 14fps at 12 bit raw in single point focus. If you want 14 bit raw with tracking, its 10 fps. But you can find more information here on this review. photographylife.com/reviews/nikon-z6-ii/3
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective i mean you shoot a Z9 and its capable of 30fps burst, if the lens supported that speed, it’ll for sure support 14fps Z6ii. That is my question hahaha, im sorry if my question is a bit unclear initially. Im planning on switching to Z6ii from A7iii and planning to get this lens as well for sports
@@trippydante My mistake, i read it as you asking if the Z6ii shot 14fps. Its all good. Yeah the 70-200 VR2 can handle 14fps easily. Nikon doesnt limit your camera FPS based on the lens like Sony will do. My question is why are you switching from the A7iii that has more reliable autofocus for sports? I would personally go for the Nikon Z6iii if you are switching to Nikon and want an actual worthy upgrade.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective hahahah my reason will be: 1. Ergonomics, sony grips becomes very uncomfortable when paired with heavy lens. 2. Burst speed, A7iii can only do 10fps and even im upgrading to A7IV its even worst at 6fps burst uncompressed RAW. While Z6ii capable of max 14 fps and it’ll be easier transition to upgrade to Z6iii. 3. Colour! 4. Autofocus wise, ive tested Z6ii before. My view on its autofocus is more towards like how you use the autofocus rather than what the camera has to offer on making it easier. Also sacrificing the autofocus on A7iii for better colour on Nikon actually lol hahaha.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective yes sony does offer better cameras for sports like the A9 series, but i simply couldn’t afford the body and sony native lenses (to support the full burst speed) while nikon offer more burst rate on Z6ii than A7iii + they have tons of good dslr lenses that can be adapted to mirrorless and they are way way cheaper.
I thought stills were illegal, aint that what they use to make moonshine 😂 or is that why you were shooting them , tir put holes in them so as they couldnt be used and the moon 'd shine through the holes after all the liquor had done run out.. 😂
Thanks for the very thorough review. You deserve a lot more subscribers than you have. Although I must say, I very much disagree with your conclusions (and BTW, part of what makes a good thorough review is that one shows their work so that the viewer can come to their own conclusions - so again thank you for that). I think you're underestimating a number of important things: Weight, size and cost in particular. Personally, I find those very important. I found the image quality comparisons closer than you suggest in your verbal comments and the auto-focus differences small enough to be unworthy of an upgrade. I can see why others may find the internal focus, weather sealing and focus noise for video compelling reasons for upgrading, but for me, I'd much rather save the weight (which becomes notably substantial if you need the FTZ for any other lenses) and the space in my bag... plus keep an extra thousand dollars for some other lens upgrade. But again, I thank you for the thorough review.
Thank you! Its hard to convey image quality across youtube videos. Its best to find some image samples from websites to view on your own screen. It can be splitting hairs on the basis of images produced. But if you need something just built better than the Sigma you'll be looking at the overweight sport version or just buying the Nikon 180-600. And the 180-600 weighs a few pounds less than the Sports. Along with native mount and internal zoom. All things considered its not really a fair comparison. I just happened to be upgrading from the Sigma to the Nikon as many people do. If someone isnt in need of the better quality of life functions, theres not much reason to upgrade from Sigma C to the Nikon. This week I'll be posting a Nikon 105 2.8 MC Macro review, hopefully.
