Lora O'Brien, founder of the Ogham Academy in County Waterford, Ireland, shares videos on the Ogham Alphabet, an ancient Irish writing system that has been used for almost 2000 years for practical, spiritual, and magical purposes. Ogham remains a somewhat mysterious Celtic writing script, to this very day. It was invented in Ireland, most probably during the 4th Century CE, and was developed to express the sounds of the oldest known version of the Irish language - Primitive Irish. Our earliest examples of the script are found carved into ogham stones. These inscribed stone slabs were used by Gaelic Irish tribes to record our history. Ogham is a unique system of notches and lines, used to represent the sounds of the Primitive Irish tongue. It is a written alphabet, not a language in it's own right - an important distinction. Learn more about the Ogham alphabet, with a native author and educator, and discover why it’s becoming more popular today.
So, this means germanic people should not do witchcraft as there's no more evidence of what was done in the past? Appropriation is what's happening all over the world and it's called progression. I'm sorry but I don't agree at all. I do think you have to be respectfull towards other religions and cultures but some stuff will inevitably be taken over by people learning about other cultures.
Agree so much. 3 out of 10 men declined, 7 out of 10 men committed acts of horror. 100% of the men upheld it. We literally have to face men when we are in vulnerable positions daily, as coworkers, medical professionals or intimate relationships. We have to face our predator daily and navigate not getting hurt, as much as we could be. At least it wasn’t “this” bad.
We can't carry pepper spray we can't protect ourselves, in this country the victim is ALWAYS put on trial not the predator, try going through it living in rural area its disgusting, blamed& shamed . Less than 1% get to court less than that get a conviction people need to seriously wake the f up
I think it's an over inflated ego on behalf of the American (wanting to feel special). As someone who lives in the States, I can't imagine that kind of arrogance.
I saw a post about male's code vs. girl code. Male code is keeping the side piece a secret from the girlfriend, while girl code is to help protect each other from creepy men and being there for each other in times of need. The story you're talking about is an exact representation of that male code.
Hearing storys makes my blood boil. Every time. A bit of a personel story but a college from work is genuendly scared when she sees a men unexpectedly. She's says Huh een Man! (Huh a man! in english) It always saddens me and makes me angry to know a lot of 'men' are utterly clueless how scary the world is for women
I was guided to you on this day Friday 13, the day if The Goddess, Morrigan wants me to learn from you. You are the wisdom holder of our lineage she said 🥰💖🪄
We hear so much about culture appropriation and I’m open to being respectful, but I’m curious if modern witchcraft appropriated from the accusers. How much of these practices were around before the witch hunters? Meaning: did European woman have familiars or is it an appropriation of those that accused them of being in league with the devil. I get that some animals were common to farms and homes (cats), but was the act of having a familiar part of their practice? Same with flight? And is being a witch European appropriation? Seder magic is Scandinavian, Voodoo Africa and Shaman Russian. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I can't tell you how many times I come back to listen to this story, and I noticed something new and notice "coincidences" in my own spiritual practice with each listen. Thanks again so much for doing this. 💚
Lora, thank you so very much for sharing that with us. I can't explain just how much it resonated with me. The depiction of the gods, how they interact, how human they can be, it was incredibly moving. I immediately purchased the Kindle version to devour this weekend. Thank you so very much for what you and Jon do.
I apologize if this was already addressed, but may I ask what happened to the Morrigan playlist? It's the only thing I have rn where i can get accurate info on her bc im dirt poor 😭
Check the latest video on Irish pagan school youtube for why it was removed, and also the links in the video notes on this channel. Morrigan academy for example
I think it's great that people are showing how human the Gods can be. Returning home after they've been out, doing their work. Enjoying each other's company. Especially those that are spouses.
Thank you *so much* for posting this story to RU-vid - hearing it today of all days feels timely and auspicious in terms of where I’m currently at in life. Thank you again for sharing 🥹♥️
Ironically, I saw your reading of this from 2 years ago just this past Sunday(3 days ago). I was so moved, I ordered your book that very same day. It was you, Lora, who finally gave me the name of She who has always been with me for 40+ years. You were in a KellyAnn Maddox video about 4 years ago and the literal second you said her name...I knew it was Her. I'm so grateful for you and your work... thank you over and over again
I remember reading this by the shores of Lough Owel on the day my daughter was born, sitting under a statue of Aoife bursting into a flock of birds. Story moved me so much the child carried the name Aoife from that moment on. Strong name, strong Women
Thank you for sharing this video. I liked hearing that Orlagh views her work as an engineer as a devotional act, because I do this too. I began my adult work life as a welder, then became a machinist, and once I finished my engineering degree I took my current hybrid role as a cross between an engineer and a machinist. I now work in a wind research lab where I design, build, and test our prototypes. Once I began going down the path of Irish paganism, I immediately felt a gravitation towards Brigid as a smith, which led me to research and connect with her other roles as well. I feel like my job brings me closer to her, and it feels good to know others have that experience as well. Thank you 🙂
Thank you for your bravery and openness sharing this at such a difficult time so that we can understand and learn the traditions better. It helps me to understand my family’s approach to death and how city v country in Australia is different as well (loads of Irish people pioneered the bushland). My lot settled in the Snowy River area, my grandfather was born in 1895. Older Aussies are tainted by the stiff upper lip garbage which is at total odds with the rest of our blood. I’m thankful that The Morrigan has me here today. I’m so sorry for your loss
