Made by a dude who finds the Division Bell boring as fuck and thought the MLoR clip was too funny to pass up no matter how much he loves it, to be perfectly accurate
Anyone explain this dislike for A Momentary Lapse outside of those kinda fans who kiss the ground Roger Waters walks on, from a musical standpoint? I dont think its the best but its far from the worst album. I get that without the whole band it has an altered sound, but so does the Division Bell and all the other later albums/solo work of Gilmour and Waters. If you loved Roger and hate David then thats your fine entitled opinion to have. I just am curious why do other people who are neutral regarding the band members as people why they dislike it. Sorrow is a great song, and Terminal Frost is neat, Signs of Life is cool, I dunno
The Piper at the Gates Of Dawn: It’s true That this album is psychedelic but not the whole album. The Most psychedelic ones are Astronomy Domine, Interstellar Overdrive and Bike. But yeah. These songs are definitely like the clip shows. A Saucerful Of Secrets: Half true. More: The Movie is about drugs and the clip shows exactly “More” pills. Ummagumma: These Sounds exists on the album but mainly in “Several Spieces of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict” but I really like this album cause it’s unique. There are songs on this album feels like today’s Pink Floyd (The Narrow Way) and, songs that are kinda psychedelic (The Whole Side A) and songs that it’s sound is more like art cause of it’s total chaos (Several Spieces of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict). It’s like the sound creates the picture “cause of it’s total chaos” and the most beautiful thing in this kind of music is that you can interpret this song in hundreds of thousands ways. It allows ya to imagine different stories that could fit this song and feeling that it gives. Atom Heart Mother: I think it describes more the suite not the whole album. Obscured By Clouds: “Childhood’s End”. TDSoTM: I don’t know if that describes the unexpected death but if it does, that’s true that the album is like thinkin’ about death and “Time”. Wish You Were Here: Silence after the leaving of your friend and band member that was very important to the band. Animals: “Pigs On The Wing” The Wall: True. The Devision Bell: *bell rings* The Endless River: Like it’s telling the story of Rick.
The endless river looks so ominous when you think about what Gilmour, Waters and Mason might be hiding til just one of them stands. Maybe the bright side of the moon? Wish you weren't here? Humans? The ceiling?
