I just found your series; very interesting and thanks for sharing them! For those of us in the USA it's a little sidebar that in 1980 Essex showed up as Mario Andretti's sponsor for the IndyCar races he ran that season for Roger Penske - all 3 Penskes had a dark blue livery that season with different colored stripes - Bobby Unser's had yellow stripes with white outlines and his team's sponsor "Norton" in white on the sidepods; Rick Mears had white stripes with red outlines and his team's sponsor "Gould" on the sidepods; and Andretti's had red stripes with white outlines and used the same chrome decal/paint on the sidepod with the same Essex logo as used by Lotus.
I was obsessed with the 1995 livery, I remember being so excited for seeing it with the raised nose-cone in 1996 (I think the last image you show of this livery is during testing for 1996 season just before they'd secured B&H), I was so disappointed when they turned up at Melbourne with the yellow cars, although Brundle's shunt more than made up for it from a viewers perspective! Great job with the videos keep up the good work!
Fun facts Marlboro also was sponsor of Holden Dealer Team or HDT for short in the Australian Touring Car championship mid 1970's to 1984 as well as Mitsubishi in the world rally championship late 1990's to the early 2000's
For me I'd have Williams as number 1 livery. They were lucky to have cool logos like Canon and Mobil and what they did with those logos and where they put them was perfect
BRM loved those complicated engines... maybe developing a good V8 for 66 and beyond like Chapman did would have changed their fortunes! Loved the color scheme on the 74 Motul, even my wife thinks it's pretty on Forza xbox
Rumors are now speculating a comeback for Toyota as early as 2029. Haas have been in talks with Toyota as they showed the Toyota motorsports president as a VIP guest in the Haas garage one race in the current 2024 season. Haas renewed their technical contract with Ferrari until 2028, but that doesn't mean the doors are closed completely until 2029. Toyota could do something similar to the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Sauber but instead with the eventual take over as technical partner.
