Why don't you start doing proper tactical movement before 8:20? And WHY oh why don't you fill up the bunkers when you can. Doing so gives those inside +1 range and lets you cram the marines behind it closer so they also can start firing earlier, double benefit.
I am convinced that this is *NOT achievable on _REMASTER_ * . As a seasoned Starcraft player of 20+ years, I tried replicating this example here at least 60 times... *THE MOST success I had* was to prevent *ALL BUT 3 (THREE)* nukes from dropping.
could someone explain the game mechanic on why he could defend the right side with 1 marine in 1 bunker ? i built 3 bunkers each side and the zerg attacked me like frenzy... more bunkers trigger more attacks ???
Surprised nobody has posted a video to conquer that southeast island that's got quite a bit of resources in case taking down the red & orange zerg broods got tough.
It is interesting that Blizzard apparently designed this mission with the anticipation that you *could* figure out a way to save all these reinforcements from getting nuked AND eventually keep them. One would have thought that they had designed it so that these reinforcement units would NOT revert to your control even if they had stayed alive, simply because Blizz had no expectation whatsoever that a way to prevent the nukes existed.
Well, they gave all the tools to do it. If the Factory wasn't there, or you didn't start with gas, or the Machine Shop wasn't already attached, this potentially wouldn't be possible.
@@JawaThePwn well, yes... *THEORETICALLY* ... ...but the proper way to save it all is *SO obscure* ... even for a *seasoned veteran Starcraft player* , that it's still really weird. Also don't forget that the other sub-chapter of this mission, where you fight off BCs *instead of nukes* , there really *isn't* a way to prevent your side-bases' demise *there* . .
@@acb1511 nah, man, not really... Don't forget that 1) Speedrunning wasn't really a thing back in 1998, and 2) This one mission here is really a *WEIRD* exception, nothing more.
I meant the BW Terran Mission 6, where you also might not build anything. And generally I think you highly underestimate the video game nerds from the 90s, most Starcraft 1 players at least had experience with Diablo 2, a quite nerdy game even by modern standarts. @@kurzackd
I tried it your way but I wasn't good enough. Well done! I could never get enough defense around the bunkers by the 7.30-minute mark, as I went to attack the middle base. Your timings and multi-taskings were excellent.
They are not detectors, they get triggered by steps. so if an SCV, Drone or Proble who hover pass by, they will not be trigerred. But a clacked Ghost or Dark Templar would trigger them. This is awesome game mechanics for 1998.
Our every-man, blue-collar, Terran here with a couple of supply blocks (not blunders but not insignificant either), not using a single army hotkey, with the camera scroll speed set at the default 20%, truly shows that a noob like me can do this! Thank you!!
