Thank you so much😊 I haven't ever read Vanity Fair but it's definitely one on my radar, so glad to hear you are enjoying it despite the length! I guess you just have to take it one chapter at a time and enjoy the journey 📚
In the Chestnut Springs series it was "shrink-wrapped eyes" for me 😅 i had never neard that before and then it was in every single book, multiple times.
HIGHLY recommend anyone who is struggling to get through LOTR to try the audiobooks narrated by Rob Inglis. He does a phenomenal job and I never would have been able to get through them in print (I struggle to read anything in print although I adore audiobooks). I did end up reading The Silmarillion in print, which took me six months but was 1000% worth it. The first half reads as very biblical in its style of writing, but the second half is much easier and more fun to get through as it focuses on specific characters and their stories.
This is a great shout, I sometimes forget audio is an option but I think the style of Tolkien will really suit narration. Will look out for the Rob Inglis version so thank you!
I totally get being wary of not liking a popular book like hamnet. It’s on my shelf and I haven’t read It yet. I feel this way about sally Rooney. I can’t stand her writing.
Yeah it's difficult because reading is so subjective! Also you're battling against high expectations when something is that popular / hyped. I'm actually staying away from Sally Rooney because she doesn't use speech marks and that really bothers me!
Audio could be a great shout for this one, imagine the narrators will do a much better job with any of the lyrical parts than I would! Might pass on the jogging though 😅
Hey! Thanks for the video ☺️. I’ve read « A little life » and honestly it’s not obligatory to read it. I used to call it « the cake trauma » because it has many layers of traumatic stuff that never really end. Not everyone enjoys a cake trauma, and the story itself I mostly remember the sad or horrible parts. Like no character or quote really stuck with me, it was more like « yeah everything is worse than I thought ». I love, love, love Lolita and on the contrary I feel like it’d be a great read. Because Nabokov writes SO well (the best writing ever really), and despite what many people think it’s anti-pedophilia. Basically it’s written for you to get inside Humbert Humbert’s head and hate him. And it works! A truly disgusting man. And it also touches upon double standards and victim blaming, which as a society we rarely talk about! Sorry for the ramble
Haha no I love a good book ramble, really great to hear your thoughts! Makes me feel much better about picking up Lolita, sounds like it will be a very worthwhile and interesting read. And cake trauma is a brilliant phrase 😂
Thank you 🙏 Thats a tough question but would say Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. Its unlike anything else I've read, so beautifully written and really intriguing/mysterious/fantastical. Loved it! Loving the FNAF profile pic btw 😄
@@logangamingvideos8057 Hm that's an interesting idea. To be honest it's probably not something I'd think about at the moment, it might sound silly but I still just feel like I'm fully finding my feet and getting into a good routine with creating videos!
Just books and pure asmr?? I think this is my new fav channel :D p.s. Small Things Like These is my favourite book of allll time. If you loved Foster, then you're absolutely going to love this one as well!
Your ASMR is amazing, but is there any way you can turn off the ads? They are every five minutes and really loud compared to the ASMR. I know RU-vid sucks when it comes to ads and you might not be able to do anything about it yet.
Thank you 🙏 but sorry you are getting so many ads. Unfortunately I have no control over ads as you have to have 1K+ subscribers. I feel your pain as it’s horrible seeing ads when you’re trying to relax , will definitely change things if I am able to in future!
Hello, I’m so glad I found your channel! This video just popped up on my home page. I’m also from the UK and have been looking for more UK based booktube channels. I like the American booktubers but it’s nice to have a bit of familiarity with references and things. Also your book taste seems to be more familiar compared to a lot of booktubers who tend to read mainly YA and romance. Nice to find something more relatable 💜📚 P.S. I liked White Teeth
Aw thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it ☺️ I definitely have quite a broad taste in books, personally I get a bit bored if I read all the same genre and nothing else but each to their own!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed! And good suggestion, I'm planning to do a book tag next month to cover some of that off but will look into a Q&A as well :)
Sweet British accent, books, and attic 😍 Even thinking about them makes me fall asleep. Maybe the problem is small space but I think you do not use your attic efficiently. Take a look at freckles asmr to get some ideas. She is a professional artist but I think the sole attic is a big reason for her success. People love the cosy vibe of attics. I think she knows that very well and she uses that to her benefit Comparing to yours She has a broader background view inside which there is a cosy bed, a window that shows the weather and beautiful rains, and more plants and greens than you All of these factors are relaxing You can apply the same strategies if any of them is possible Also I think the starecase behind you is unique among similar videos, you can change the camera's view to show some stairs or make it more visible These are just my opinions and maybe I'm wrong Keep up the great work and I wish you Ks and Ms of subscribers 🤞🤞
