this might be a weird question but, are those little things for ur drone string staples or what? did u do that urself? is there any common practices in the banjo world for doing things like that so u can lock it up down the frets
I think folks call ‘em railroad spikes. Mine came with the banjo, but you can install your own. I love ‘em because they make it so much easier to play in different keys. Especially when using a capo
The five string banjo was kinda made for Clawhammer. It makes it real easy to break those quarter notes (hammering) in half with that higher, droning thumb pluck. Of course there’s a bunch of exceptions to the rule, but I’d say that’s a good starting point. Besides that, brand, materials, open/closed back doesn’t affect the playing style. Everything else is tone.
