Our asparagus variety is mary washington, and the seeds from it grow very well. There are ways and places to grow mint so that it doesn't overrun the garden. In our garden it's the garlic that's super invasive and grows in all the garden beds and the pathways and any other spot of dirt. We've been digging up the garlic and planting it in the shaded backyard where it still grows, which frees up a lot of space in the main garden area~
