Personally, I would have smashed his gaming system, but that's just me. There are MANY parents who would do well to smash their child's screens/phones/tablets, etc. and get back to parenting and teaching their children instead of relying on the very dangerous Internet to expose them to life. You believe you are giving your child access to the Internet, when you are actually allowing access to your child from the Internet/sextortion/human traffickers/predators, etc..
Jess, is there a reason you didn't just go out and eat McDonald's or something while in character? Idk, this doesn't make sense to me. I mean, even though you were kicked out in the series you could have at least got in your car and got some food. Psycho Dad didn't forbid you of your car.
Sorry dad is not gonna be disrespected by a lazy piece i would have gone for the tv and the game station. And then would have said you want to be lazy pack up and get the fk out.
My dad wouldn’t have let this conversation go that long. It would have been “your game time is done, get up and take care the trash like you were supposed to before I got home from work”. Had I just kept playing while he was talking to me, the game would never be seen again - and I don’t just mean the game but the console. And to top it off just because I disrespected him to his face my list of chores would be long enough to cover the bill of what ever he paid for the game and console. To finish it off add some grounded time with zero TV, phone, friends etc. parents are too soft these days. Actions have consequences, just as lack of actions do…
He is a good dad. He has been giving him chances to do it by words, now this is the warning and work is done. Children must be involved in household chores and to take up responsibilities from a young age. Wonderful.
