I made this channel to help educate others in my tinkering hobbies: DIY gunsmithing, building motorized bikes, modifying Arcade1ups, reloading, and competitive shooting. My platforms are 1911, 2011, CZ, Tanfoglio, Beretta, Ruger Mark, Glock, Rhino, Smith & Wesson/Dan Wesson revolvers, and M1/1892 clone rifles. I like to tinker and improve all my firearms, so I also use this channel to review aftermarket products by firearm companies such as DPM, TK Custom, Cammer Hammer, Palo Verde Gunworks, Revo-Gear, EWK Arms, Howell Arms, Aristocrat, Power Custom, Hogue, Lee Precision, Lok, Tandemkross, Springer Precision, CZ Custom, Cajun Gun Works, Fusion, Magblocks, Taylor Freelance, Speed Ledge, Bar-Sto, KT Crafts, 3D Printed Gear, S&J Customs, Wasatch Arms, IGB, and more. Pro Detroit Tip : A re-usable 12oz paintball nitrous tank can be hosed between the air filter & carb as an actual NOS shot. I saw a guy with this motor kit in Detroit do it. I used to have a 79cc kit on a bike now I use a Bafang mid drive e bike. Awesome build man. Just needs rear suspension.
I think the 4" looks the best. I have the 4, 6, and 8 inch barrels for mine. I want the two inch but I lose interest when the bidding on eBay goes above $300. Great video and display of all the different barrel lengths. Thanks!
So glad I found this video! I've adjusted the spring strength of gate as you showed and have removed carrier. I've previously installed the Palo Verde spring kit & it's made a great improvement. But it STILL won't load properly. So this filing/grinding is next up. I'm at the stage of removing the spring-loaded bit on left inside of receiver but can't get it to detach. Got the little screw out but what else is holding it in place? How can it be removed? Thnx!
I got that mag guide out and back in again yesterday. My R92 is a Citadel (exact copy of Rossi R92; same firearm, from same factory with same QC issues). I've installed total springs upgrade, modified gate spring and as of now have ground down the ridge on magazine gate. Did it help? Yea, a little, but ammo still jams after three rounds in mag. If I feel like more aggravation I may open it all up again and go at the ridge with finer sandpaper but I have to prepare myself for what I know to be a major PITA. I've had this thing apart half a dozen times and it's still an absolute beast to re-assemble (lower tang & hammer!) That's the real work of this or any R92 mod; getting it back together! I'm now officially fed up with this gun. I've owned a number of firearms over the years but never one that ran so poorly and needed so much work right out of the box as this. But I didn't find any of the machine marks and rough finishing as a few others have mentioned; mine actually looks very clean. According to many other online comments, I'm far from the only one with these negative experiences. I fail to understand why the hell Rossi/Citadel can't deliver a new firearm that doesn't require all this work and headache just to get up to normal? It was the only lever gun available when I was looking and now that I'm this far in, I definitely regret ever having bought it. But, as I've invested so much time & frustration into this thing, I'll probably keep it a while longer... Up here in Kanada with our insane Kommunist leaders, who knows if I'll even have the choice tomorrow? But for any shopper/researchers out there, my advice is: Don't buy this gun!😡
The 929 has a 357/38 barrel, that might sound confusing. He mentioned in the beginning the bore diameter. It’s a shortcut from S&W, they didn’t want to spend the time/money to give this revolver a proper 9mm bore diameter.
Just came across your year old video about your.357 Dan Wesson Model 12 Revolver. From time to time, I carried a Dan Wesson Model 11 as my on-duty sidearm, as a Deputy Sheriff with a local agency. I had purchased this Dan Wesson from a local pawnshop. It was in like new condition, but very odd looking. Because of the "odd" look comment made by some gun owners that had previously viewed this early production fixed sight, Dan Wesson, while it rested in the handgun counter in the pawnshop, waiting to be sold.. I was the lucky buyer because the clerk at the pawnshop was not too familiar with the first production Dan Wesson .357 Revolvers. The clerk had told me this Dan Wesson had been there a long time despite the lowering of the 200-dollar price tag. I got the clerk to let me examine this Dan Wesson. The blue steel finish was a deep, dark blue finish. It also had, what I would call, a "Flash Gordon" ray gun look. A removable 4-inch barrel and a set of fixed sights, a shooter dreams for. A walnut combat grip, with finger grooves cut into the wood. The medium size steel frame, with a single action trigger that had a very short travel. for hammer drop. This Model 11 also had a barrel nut that protruded out on the end of the barrel and shroud. It had an odd shape for sure. The barrel shroud has been called a "pork chop" looking six-gun. The front sight was very high posted and made a"perfect" match with the dovetail rear sight. The Model 11 had two other barrel lengths that could be used, but since mine was a duty six-shooter, I left things as is. Using 146-gr wadcutter .38's, and a pistol perch, that Model 11 would shoot a tight group at 25-yards. I shot this Dan Wesson in a "Service Pistol Match" and managed a 2nd place finish. She looked odd to the other shooters that day I placed. The square box look of their S&W M&P 9mm Pistol looked funny to me, but we, my Model 11 and me, took that walk down victory lane, right in front of our harshest critics. I have been retired a while now, but that contest day will never be forgotten. I just wish Dan Wesson was still alive so I could share this story with him. My DW Flash Gordon Ray Gun gave me a good score.
They've been out of production for a while now. The 15" stainless steel is extremely rare. If you want to buy the whole set: www.gunbroker.com/item/1049954924 Email me: nickshootsstuff@gmail.com
