Israeli guy here, Asmon's take is wrong because he couldn't have chosen a more un-nuanced way of saying what i (think) he meant to say Hamas Governs Gaza, the West Bank is a different story, it's controlled by both the PA and the idf. it splits into Areas A,B,C and extremely convoluted. There is no Sharia Law in the west bank in the same way that you see in other muslim-controlled places in the middle east/africa. I love Asmon but he's not educated enough to know any of this, and that's fine. But even I (who consider myself a Centrist israeli ) can easily see why this rant of his was offensively unnuanced to many people.

Writing this, because you've specifically asked to be challenged. There are civilians getting hurt in Palestine, and Asmon basically told us that their lives were worthless. He told us that Palestinians were oppressive towards people's identities (as if he cares about those people) while making zero distinction for the lives of Palestinians who are oppressed by Hamas in Palestine such as Christians, Atheists, Seculars, LGBTQ people...etc, all the people who disagree with Hamas and shari'a law (the same people whom he pretended to care about). I've recently started watching him because he was criticizing the left about blanket statements, and putting people in categories, and overgeneralizing and hating based on that, and I've agreed with his criticisms. Well, he's done exactly the same thing he was criticizing, only worse because the crazy leftists who hate white men are at least not targeting victims of war. There isn't a nation on Earth filled with nothing but bad people who deserve to die. There isn't a nation on Earth that only has radical, ultra religious right wing people within it's borders. There isn't a nation on Earth that doesn't have humanitarians, intellectuals, irreligious and apolitical people, people who are vying for peace and understanding. Asmongold has basically treated an entire nation of human beings with unique, individual values and personalities, and innocent children as one evil nation made up of nothing but orcs and monsters, a Mordor of the modern world. He's shown us that he was not only heartless, but was also a hypocrite. This would be like treating everyone living in Nazi Germany like a Nazi. Even the ones who sabotaged them. Even their victims. Even the ones who dreamt about the day their regime ends. This is dehumanizing people, and seeing them as nothing but a part of their demographics. @@Boasaurus well there's limits to free speech in every country including US, and those limits can be even greater on privately owned spaces like Twitch. It's also important to note that there have been other people who've been banned or cancelled before on such spaces, some of whom were woke. And I haven't seen any right wing people reacting negatively to that. This is my problem with people. They protect people with similar values, while condemning people with opposite values in similar contexts while ignoring the consequences. I'm 100% certain most Asmond supporters would have no problem with a woke woman talking about how all men should die being banned, the same way most left wing people have no problem with people being banned. If you ask me, I think it makes perfect sense to ban people who are talking about how people should die or how it wouldn't matter if they died or dehumanizing people no matter which side they belong to. There are few things in the world as serious as death and fewer things as serious as war. It should not be taken lightly. I've literally felt more at home at Europe more than anywhere I've been. And my country has millions of people like me. It's just that we're unfortunately not the majority, which is what truly matters regarding how states and societies work. Asmon wasn't wrong though. Look at what they did to our country a few years back. They levelled an entire bloody city, beheaded and held hostage a large number of white people over the past decades. The peaceful majority of their religion did nothing to stop this.
The issue is that he sounded like all the civilians that happen to live in gaza are worthless and their lives don't matter. Civilians that are not terrorists, not bad people, just ordinary humans living their lives. That is obviously a very dangerous and just wrong statement contradicting lots of western laws and values.
To be honest, the civilians in Gaza are painted in a bad picture by right leaning media, claiming they would happily fight for hamas, their only evidence of this, is hamas using hospitals as military hiding spots. I personally don’t believe this to be true but, the media is media I guess.
