Spent many times clambering through the tunnels as a kid back in the 60s, then took girlfriends from Paull youth club in the 1970s. We all knew every nook and cranny of the fort. A historic monument that deserves renovation. Nice to think that it may live on longer.
@philgreen815 yes it's nice to see it back open but a lot of money needs to be spent of the place and a lot of thought. Shame when I went not much of it was open.

❤ Excellent information on Lady Mabel College and a mention of when the Intelligent Corps when based at Wentworth. The mansion/country house/palace has had many lives - oh, if the walls could talk!
Thanks for the upload Simon, it brought back happy memories visiting my grandparents and later my parents for over 50 years who lived a stone's throw away at 7 Cortworth Lane until my father's passing in 2013. I remember walking through the back of the property through the woods by the pineapple gates (an unused entry for many years) to view this amazing building. Regards Kev
I think i would avoid this place after dark these days chaps, not through worry of ghosts though, but It seems to be a haunt for every fruit n nutcase in the book these days. People trying to contact the other side with all kinds of weird and wonderful tricks to hand.
I used to go here for school, left not long before it was closed. I was one of the last years to get all the way through - my sibling had to move schools. Weird looking at the place and remembering standing places with people or going in certain rooms for classes. Still know my mates' names and which teachers were which subjects. Not seen my favourite teachers' classroom since I left but I knew which one it was straight away. I appreciate this vid, and others like it, a lot - I can't go back for real now but I can still get a feel for the place even run down like this. Ta very much mate!
