Hi! Welcome to my channel! I do art and other related stuff, so stick around of you like creative things! I’m currently attending the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in graphic design. Online store: hannahblockcreates.storenvy.com Instagram: @hannahblock.creates Twitter: @hannahbcreates
one question please, if going for interaction design and UI/UX, do i need to upload art pieces in my portfolio or can i submit my digital UI designs too?
Heyy! I know I’m so late to this video but I loved it! I want to apply to Parsons but I’m in community college right now. I’m not very good at drawing tho. Do you have any tips for me or does Parsons and FITT really requires for you to be super good at drawing?
this honestly is helping me so much with the process of creating my very own portfolio! you also seem like such a lovely person and i am obsessed with the mushroom girl illustration (the perspective and composition are everything), thank you so so much <3
Hey sorry for the late response! You do need to submit some kind of a portfolio for design courses at fit, but as long as you can show that you have a good eye and can learn the material I’m sure you’ll do great!
It was an awesome program! You learn a lot about the different software and skills you need to succeed in the industry, as well as a lot of conceptual projects to work on.
This is/was so helpful! I am applying for a communications design position and am transitioning to this entirely new field (and am excited to). Helped me get a good grounding in what has been included in other people's portfolio's.
Hey angel :) Whats the difference between a visual/communication design major and a graphic design major? Do you recommend building a website for either?
Sorry for the late reply!! Comm design is a bit more broad then graphic design, but they can both get you very similar jobs! At FIT the communication design program is an associates that leads into the graphic design bachelors program. You don’t need to build a website for either application but it would look great in your portfolio if you do!
I loved it😍 you did such a great job. The three different types of moods one was my favourite. I am learning and research as much as I can before apply to an art school.
Is knowing how to paint a requirement. I’m not the best at painting mediums but I do plan on having a few in my portfolio... was just wondering if it’s a major thing you noticed in your courses
No it’s not! From my experience there was only one class in the communication Design program that required any painting at all (color studies) and they do not expect you to know the medium before the class starts! They’re really just looking for design skills like how well you understand color, composition, etc. I happened to use a lot of paintings because that’s what I have experience in, but you don’t have to!
It’s imperative that Donald Trump gets elected for his 2nd term just to piss people like you off for a second time. Lmao, it’ll be fun watching you scream at the sky again like it’ll make a difference.
Just committed to fit for communication design! Before I applied this video helped so much when I was getting my portfolio together so thank you!!! Also how is the major and the workload since you’ve been there?
Sorry this is a super late reply! The program is great! I just finished the accelerated one year communication design associates program at fit, and it was definitely more work then I was expecting, but not crazy overwhelming. The good part is that most of the work you get is genuinely fun to do, so it’s not as hard to get done. I love the program and I hope you like it too!
ASpoonFulOfYummyPho I got external scholarships but not one from FIT, but I applied as a transfer student and schools often don’t offer transfer students any scholarships
minjoonie hi!! Sorry for the late response oops 😂 but I chose FIT for a couple reasons. It’s a lot cheaper than Parsons since it’s a SUNY school, and their communication design program allows you to get a lot more focused with your studies. FIT is also quite a bit smaller that Parsons which I like a lot
